5. If you have died with Christ to the elementary
principles of the world, why, as if you were living in the
world, do you submit yourself to decrees, such as, “Do
not handle, do not taste, do not touch!”

believers in Christ 2:12-13

Since you have died with Christ from the elemental
principles of the world, why as if you were living in that
world, do you submit to it’s rules?

Legalistic rules deny the sufficiency of Christ

appearance of wisdom in self- made religion and self-abasement
and severe treatment of the body, but are of
no value against fleshly indulgence.

Return to the στοιχειων at death, which brought a person
back to the λογον
Get back to the source (λογον) in this life through
following rules, “do not handle, do not taste, do not
touch!”
