Shopping in Bangkok - Part 1
Bangkok is a favourite shopping paradise for shoppers all over the world. It is full of modern and
large shopping centres and department stores. You can shop till you drop and buy what you want, such as
books, toys, clothes, gifts, local goods, foods, computers and world famous brands. Larger chaims such as
the Central, the Mall, Tesco Lotus, Makro, Carrefour, Robinson, Big C have branches throughout Bangkok.
They also have a supermarket and fast food shops. The Mah Boon Krong shopping complex is a city itself.
The Siam Discovery Centre is opposite Siam Square. It houses over 200 shops. The newest and largest shop-
pingcomplexistheSiamParagon.ItistheprideofBangkok.TherepeoplecanenjoyvisitingtheSiamOcean
World. It is the largest underworld in Asia with over 30,000 kinds of fish from around the world.
Practice : 1. Ask individual pupils to read the text aloud chorally and underline the new words.
