Section 33. (1) of the Income Tax Act 1967
Subject to this Act, the adjusted income of a person from a source for the basis period for a year of assessment shall be an amount ascertained by deducting from the gross income of that person from that source for that period all outgoings and expenses wholly and exclusively incurred during that period by that person in the production of gross income from that source.

Foreign Income Remitted Into Malaysia 2022
1) Beginning January 1st, 2022, foreign income remitted into Malaysia will be subjected to tax.
2) Tax residents can claim foreign tax credits against Malaysian tax paid to avoid double taxation, with the credit limited to the foreign tax paid or Malaysian tax due, whichever is lower.
3) In the absence of a double tax treaty, the credit is restricted to half the foreign tax paid.

Foreign Income Remitted Into Malaysia 2022
1) Beginning January 1st, 2022, foreign income remitted into Malaysia will be subjected to tax.
2) Tax residents can claim foreign tax credits against Malaysian tax paid to avoid double taxation, with the credit limited to the foreign tax paid or Malaysian tax due, whichever is lower.
3) In the absence of a double tax treaty, the credit is restricted to half the foreign tax paid.
