elements: Matter and Spirit
DIVINE PROVIDENCE
• Divine providence is the governance of God
by which He, with wisdom and love, cares for
and directs all things in the universe.
• The doctrine of divine providence asserts
that God is in complete control of all things.
• He is sovereign over the universe as a whole
(Psalm 103:19), the physical world (Matthew
5:45), the affairs of nations (Psalm 66:7),
human destiny (Galatians 1:15), human
successes and failures (Luke 1:52), and the
protection of His people (Psalm 4:8).
• This doctrine stands in direct opposition to
the idea that the universe is governed by
chance or fate.
DIVINE PROVIDENCE
• Through divine providence God
accomplishes His will.
• To ensure that His purposes are fulfilled,
God governs the affairs of men and
works through the natural order of
things.
• The laws of nature are nothing more than
God’s work in the universe.
• The laws of nature have no inherent
power; rather, they are the principles that
God set in place to govern how things
normally work.
• They are only “laws” because God
decreed them.

IT ALL

WHAT ARE EXAMPLES OF THE DIVINE
PROVIDENCE?
Millions of spiders have crawled into trees in Pakistan to escape flood waters, shrouding them with
their silky webs.
The eye-catching phenomenon is an unexpected side-effect of last year's flooding which claimed the
lives of almost 2,000 people.
However, since the monsoon weather devastated the nation last July, much of the water has still not
yet receded.
The tiny arachnids have sought refuge amongst the trees weaving beautifully intricate webs between
the leaves.
The branches are now so cocooned in spiders webs it gives the appearance of them being shrouded
in a large net.
People in this part of Sindh, in south eastern Pakistan, near Karachi, have never seen this
phenomenon before, but locals are reporting that there are now fewer mosquitos than they would
expect, given the amount of stagnant, standing water that is around.
It is thought that the mosquitos are getting caught in the spiders web and reducing the risk of
malaria, benefiting local people.
The 2010 Pakistan floods began in last July following heavy monsoon rains in the Khyber
Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, Punjab and Balochistan regions of Pakistan.
About one-fifth of Pakistan's total land area was underwater, affecting about 20 million people whose
homes, livelihoods and infrastructure was destroyed.

DIVINE PROVIDENCE
• Believe in Divine Providence is extremely important to
strengthen our courage and the desire to move
forward. It's always nice to know that we are not alone
and we will always be protected in the walk towards
good, progress and happiness.
• Knowing this, we feel stronger and hopeful, and we
learn how to deal with the difficulties and challenges.
• God is an attentive Father (as our parents here on
Earth) that watches over all of us and help us through
their agents (spirits), even unnoticed, in a moment of
prayer, the most diverse inspirations, in our daily lives,
in all our steps. Just like the sun warms us, He
inspires us and feeds us.
• God gives us life and resources to meet our needs. He
supports and inspires us, but it doesn't work for us. It
is up to us the responsibility to our own evolution and
the progress of all mankind.

Editor's Notes

  • #7 Objective: to Show that everything is linked in the universe. God is connected to us by ties of love and providing for our needs. Material: A thin roll of rope. The educator rolls the string on the tip of his finger and throws the roll to one of the students that will do the same and throw it to the next student and so on. The intention is to form a network of string in the Center. The educator move the finger that has the sting and calls the attention of all to observe when making this move, everyone in the group is connected to his move, too; everyone should do the same.
  • #8 http://educacaoespiritainfantilejuvenil.blogspot.com/2012/03/aula-providencia-divina-juventude.html There are many examples of divine assistance, as the Doctrine that it is Divine Providence, she takes care to guide us, continuing to the teachings of Jesus. Our family an example, our parents never really leave us stranded, we always have the care, advice and love them; Not to mention the messengers, benefactors, friends, spiritual guardian angels that are always guiding us in life. Another example are the vaccines, the drugs that exist to cure many diseases that exist. Law of Worship, Law of Work, Law of Reproduction, Law of Preservation, Law of Destruction, Social Law, Law of Progress, Law of Equality, Law of Liberty, Law of Justice, Love, and Compassion And if that was not enough it brought us Jesus as our friend, confidant and example who we can love, respect and be protected by.
  • #12 Let them talk for about 10-15 mins and see how many of those points they get to, than introduce them one by one.
  • #14 White on your book what you would tell him. Share if you want to.
  • #16 The goal is to have the student conduct a controlled experiment to test a hypothesis about conditions affecting the growth of algae. Does supplemental carbon dioxide affect the growth rate of algae? Is the experimental design capable of producing enough carbon dioxide to drive algal growth? Algae are organisms commonly found in aquatic environments. There are two types; macroalgae and microalgae. The large multicellular macroalgae are often found in ponds and in the ocean. They tend to be measurable in inches, although giant kelp in the ocean can grow to more than 100 feet in length. Microalgae are tiny unicellular algae that grow as suspensions in water; they are measurable in micrometers. Common sources of microalgae are bogs, marshes, and swamps. All algae require sunlight, water, nutrients, and carbon dioxide for growth. Through the process of photosynthesis, algae convert the carbon dioxide into glucose (a sugar). The glucose is then broken down into fatty acids, which under normal conditions, are used to produce membranes for new algal cells. If, however, the algae are starved of nutrients, the fatty acids produce fat molecules (oil). Because carbon dioxide is the only source of carbon for algae, having an adequate supply is essential if they are to be used for commercial purposes. What materials are included? Three one-liter bottles of purified water; sugar; brewer’s yeast; silicone sealant; drill; 6-mm aquarium airline tubing; algae Materials can be found at the following places: Purified water (supermarket), sugar (supermarket), brewer’s yeast (supermarket), silicone sealant (Walmart-type store); aquarium; airline (pet store); algae (pond or marsh or biological/scientific supply house); 10-15-10 liquid plant food (plant nursery or Internet) Read about the conditions required for algae to grow, and formulate a hypothesis to predict whether giving algae supplemental carbon dioxide would be a feasible way to increase algae growth. Collect some algae from a pond, marsh, swamp, swimming pool, fish aquarium, bird bath or other source. If you are unable to locate a natural source, contact a biological/scientific supply house (Google). Add equivalent amounts of algae to two (clear plastic) bottles of purified water. Discard the bottle caps. Add two drops of 10-15-10 liquid plant food to each bottle. Pour out a small amount of water from a third bottle of purified water, leaving about an inch of air space at the top of the bottle. This bottle will be the carbon dioxide reactor. Make a hole in the bottle cap of the reactor bottle that is just large enough to allow an aquarium airline to pass through it, then run the airline through the hole so that it extends into the free air space when the cap is on. Seal the airline to the top of the bottle cap with a silicone sealant. Dissolve 2 teaspoons of sugar and 1 teaspoon of brewers yeast in the reactor. (Yeast is a fungus that converts sugar into carbon dioxide bubbles.) Extend the aquarium airline from the reactor bottle to one of the bottles containing algae. The airline should extend about half way into the algae bottle. Place all three bottles outdoors where they will get indirect sun. TIP Direct sunlight may inhibit growth. The optimum temperature for algal growth is between 20 and 24 deg C. Temperatures above 35 deg C are lethal to algae. Monitor the growth of the algae in the two sample bottles for one month. If necessary, replace the sugar, yeast, and water in the reactor to keep the carbon dioxide source operating. At the end of the month, compare the amounts of algae in the two sample bottles. Evaluate your hypothesis in light of your findings. Revise it if necessary and propose additional experiments.
