This is the overview of eDesign capabilities.
Usually, at the beginning of a design task, we need to survey on network, building, infrastructures, etc. The mobile APP is a proven tool for this task. eSurvey is a mobile app, can guide and assist engineer to get the orders, perform site survey, route survey , input survey result and send back to the eDesign server through WIFI or 3G.
During designing, eDesign provides HLD, LLD, Import&Export features on the WEBGIS workspace.
The Inventory management system can manage all resources of Operators networks. Like The wireless and fixed line access networks, aggregation network, transmission, core, pstn and so on.
Can manage all physical resources in networks, like OLT, OCC, Splitter, ONU of FTTx network, AAA server, IPTV server bla bla....
It also can Manage logical resources like telecom regions and site, standard address of customer, IP Address, CVLAN, SVLAN and so on.
Workforce Management manages the workforce required for service fulfillment and service assurance.
It optimizes and dispatches manpower for accomplishing construction tasks.
Workforce management includes Contract Relationship to manage outsourced contractors, maintain staff basic information, like name, code, skill etc. in Staff management, time limit can be specified and adjusted to realize differential service level, It can make appointment to customer and choose proper team.
Workforce can support Outsourced contractors management, to manage the team’s profile, like managers, engineers information, How much is the contracted capacity, whether they are responsible by area or building or site, what’s the contracted tasks, FTTx, or DSL or CMTS. Also create SLA reports to assess their performance.
FOA is a mobile app to assist engineer handle work orders.
FOA provides all the information necessary for construction, like customer address, contact, the time appointed to customer and the resource information.
And guide the field engineer step by step, including accept order, check order information, process order by taking photos during installation, by collecting ONU devices information with barcode scan in APP, by getting customer signature and upload them when finish the work.
Order Management handles the work orders from other systems and monitors the whole process, including Acceptance, Dispatch, Execution and Completion.
Dispatch management can dispatch orders to the field engineer according to predefined rules .
It also supports tool management and provides email and SMS notification or order receiving.
Provisioning automatically execute the activation orders by connecting to network elements.
It accepts orders from order management and dispatch to execute the work order according to the rules like First in and first out, Priority based rule or others.
Instruction will be initialized according to work order and will be sent to EMS for executing through adaptor. Also rules are set for handling exceptions.
After the work order is executed and it will be archived and feedback notification.
The work order status in the whole provisioning process can be monitored as well as interface status in the process.
To complete the activations network event, instructions, adapters and dispatching rules should be configured in advance.
For the service fulfillment, we provide the automatic full-service fulfillment process to support the fiber network provisioning.
When the customer request the service in the sales point, they should select the services they want. When Order management in QRun receive from CRM, the order will be decomposed, and designed to the resource allocation, Service activation, and onsite installation.
The resource including the physical resource as fiber, port and logical resource as vlan circuit ids will be allocated in inventory management, and the activation procedure will use provisioning for the ONU register, and service activation in the Easygateway module. If the order required onsite installation, the workforce will assign the onsite task to field engineer via push the message to FOA or using SMS or Email notification. When the onsite installation finished, the result will be feedback to the Order management on time.

The network planning is realized by the modules, eDesign & eSurvey. eDesign is GIS based system, gives an visualized view of the FTTx network planning, so called planning as you see,
It includes 4 steps, Survey, High Level Design, Low Level Design and Export Planning result to other systems after design completion.
Generally before network design, field data should be collected to provide an important reference like broadband coverage, building type, the distribution of residents, building Access point etc. eSurvey is a mobile app, can guide and assist engineer to get the orders, perform site survey, route survey , input survey result and send back to to the eDesign server through WIFI or 4G.
After survey is high level design, designers will divide equipment coverage areas on map, and place ODN equipment (OCC, ODB, closure, manhole, site and ONU) in the area; lay out optical cable/poles and choose route; generate ODN network inventory data through equipment selection and configuration.
After HLD designers will start Low Level Design, to consider how to connect fiber to the port, connect splitter port to which port, how to design the fiber to reach customers’ home.
In common case, 80% of network planning time is consumed at detail level design. Because fiber amount is huge and designer should design each fiber’s connection.
To improve the efficiency and shorten time eDesign provides intuitive graphical design interface and let designer make the design much easier.
The last job is to distribute the design result to related departments or systems. Drawing sent to the construction team. BOM delivered to the financial team. Also resources can be synchronized with inventory system after construction, which significantly simplify the resource importing work and also guarantee the resources accuracy.
Another typical scenario is automatic service fulfillment.
Customer request services at CRM system and CRM send the customer order to QRUN through interface.
In addition, QRUN is able to provide resource feasibility check to CRM while CSR commit to customer.
QRUN order management is responsible for order decomposition and order orchestration.
QRUN Inventory Management will allocate resource according to order information.
With the allocated resource information, QRUN Provisioning Management perform automatic activation to active network elements, including ONU register, BRAS activation, and use Easygateway for service activation such as IPTV platform provision.
If the order requires onsite installation, QRUN Workforce will dispatch the work order to field engineer through FOA which is a mobile APP.
After completion Order Management will archive the service orders and feedback to CRM for order completion.
OTDR的英文全称是Optical Time Domain Reflectometer中文意思为光时域反射仪。OTDR是利用光线在光纤中传输时的瑞利散射和菲涅尔反射所产生的背向散射而制成的精密的光电一体化仪表,它被广泛应用于光缆线路的维护、施工之中,可进行光纤长度、光纤的传输衰减、接头衰减和故障定位等的测量。
There are normally two scenarios for closed-loop network assurance.
One is Customer Complaint Handling. Customer will call when there is issue, like service broken, or Internet access very slow, or cannot use WIFI. The staff in Call Center can use EDM to make fast diagnose to locate like whether is the cable unplugged or powered off, the call center can guide the customer to fix, if it’s the outside fiber broken found with the support of OTDR, TT will be generated in Operation Flow management for further analysis, if require onsite recovery, the work order will be dispatched to Workforce management for onsite operation. After completion Call center will confirm with customer if the problem is solved.
The other is Network Fault Handling, when alarms occurred in network, Fault Mgmt. will receive the alarm from EMS and forward the alarms needed to be handled to operation flow management, trouble ticket will be generated for handling, after fault analysis and locating, the onsite recovery order will be dispatched to Workforce Management. Trouble ticket will be closed when alarm is cleared. Inventory Management can provide information for Impact Analysis and network blocking.
If necessary OFM can provide monitoring information for customer to query the work order processing progress.
