This document discusses different types of light bulbs, including incandescent, compact fluorescent (CFL), and LED lighting. Incandescent bulbs are the most familiar but also the least efficient and most expensive to operate. CFL bulbs are around 80% cheaper to run than incandescent and have improved in appearance and startup time. LED lighting is now the most efficient option, with models that are 90% cheaper to run than incandescent and provide instant full brightness like incandescent bulbs. LED bulbs are available for both general and downlight fixtures.
