This document contains equipment reference forms for 6 different types of lighting equipment:
1) A pin spot light used to highlight small areas with a narrow beam from a 30w bulb.
2) An ETC S4 Jr Zoom light similar to a Profile, used in clubs/small stages, with a 575w bulb that appears brighter but uses less energy.
3) A Profile CCT Minuette light with adjustable lenses to control beam size and shape, a 650w bulb, and accessories like gobos and an iris.
4) An LED Par 56 light made of tiny color-mixing bulbs that don't get hot and have long lifetime controlled by DMX or a back switch.

PLEIAD G3
We know how to find a star in the ceiling
Looking for a star
Throughout the ages, stars have amazed people. The mystery of their existence has intrigued scientists in all times. In the early 1990s Fagerhult also gazed at the night sky with the wish to create our own luminous sphere. We wanted a luminaire that was just like a star – from this Pleiad was born.

1. Equipment Reference Form
Type and/ Make of equipment: Pin Spot
Description:
This light is much smaller than the others and only contains a 30w bulb. Its main use is to
highlight a small area of light such as to light a mirror ball and a narrow beam of light is
produced. When a few pin spots are used together, it can be quite effective, especially when
they are pointed in different directions and in different colours. They do not take barn doors,
however coloured lenses are available to change the colour of the light.
Key Components & Accessories:
G Clamp & Screw
Safety Chain
30w Bulb
A Plug
2. Equipment Reference Form
Type and/ Make of equipment: ETC, S4 Jr Zoom
Description:
This particular ECT light is very similar to a Profile CCT Minuette. It is used mainly in
clubs and on small stages because the size of the light beam provides a good general cover
of light for the amount of space present, therefore it is most suitable and fewer lights are
required.
The S4 Jr Zoom (Source 4 Junior Zoom) has four shutters and a slightly different bulb. This
difference is that this one is energy saving. It reads as only having 575watts, however it
appears much brighter when turned on. On the back you will find a Peak and Flat adjuster.
This takes away any hotspots that may appear on stage. This means it makes the beam more
even and also smoother. It also has optional to hold a gobo or an iris.
This light may be used over a CCT Profile Minuette because it saves energy whilst
producing a good amount of light. Also, less power is used up meaning it lasts longer than
other lights which is very beneficial. It has the same accessories as a Profile CCT, such as
shutters, a gobo or an iris so can be used in a similar way.
Key Components & Accessories:
G Clamp & bolt
Safety Chain
HLP 575w bulb
Shutters
15 amp Plug
Gel Frame
Iris
Gobo
3. Equipment Reference Form
Type and/ Make of equipment: Profile CCT Minuette
Description:
In contrast to the other lights, the Profile CCT Minuette has 2 lenses, making it longer in
length. To adjust the lenses, they can be moved backwards and forwards. The closer they are
together, the bigger the beam of light and the further apart they are set, the narrower it will
be. Moving the lens instead the reflector allows you to sharpen and soften the edge of the
beam.
The shutters allow you to create different shapes. For example if you wanted to light a scene
in a corridor, you could push the shutters closer together to make the beam of light more
narrow. And if, for example, you wanted to highlight a window, you could form a square to
fit the shape. The Profile CCT Minuette allows you to be more specific and flexible with the
shape of the light.
Again it has a 650w bulb but a difference is that there are no barn doors on this light. Instead
a gobo can be added to project patterns such as a moon or a tree onto the stage. This makes
the lighting even more specific. Another optional accessory is an Iris. This can be used when
the size of a light beam needs to be decreased for something extremely small, such as a
puppet show. It has the ability to focus the light down to the size of a penny. This light is
used a lot in theatre because it is so practical and flexible. A gel frame can still be added.
Key Components & Accessories:
G Clamp & bolt
Safety Chain
650w Bulb
Gel Frame
Shutters
Gobo
Iris
4. Equipment Reference Form
Type and/ Make of equipment: LED Par 56
Description:
LED stands for Light Emitting Diode which are basically tiny bulbs that fit into an electric
circuit. In the light they are different colours: red, blue and green so you can mix them to
create any colour you like. This type of light also doesn’t get hot, therefore it is safe to use
around other people. LED’s have a low wattage which can be an advantage because it has a
long lifetime. They can be controlled by a lighting desk using DMX or there is a switch on
the back of the case to operate it.
All of the lights I have written about are called Generic lights, but LED’s are under
intelligent lights which means they are controlled through an automated system whereas
generic lights (e.g.parcans, s4 jr zooms) are lights that do not have the ability to move,
change colour or change beam shape.
Key Components & Accessories:
G Clamp & bolt
Safety Chain
Bulb
Plug
5. Equipment Reference Form
Type and/ Make of equipment: Fresnel CCT Minuette
Description:
A CCT Minuette Fresnel is the lightest and smallest in the Minuette range. It stores a bulb
of 650watts and produces a soft edged beam of light. This is due to the design of the lens
which creates a soft shadow effect. These lights are commonly used for back, front, side and
top lighting. The beam angle can be altered by sliding the heat resistant knob found
underneath the light. The further back the knob is set, the bigger the beam of light. A CCT
Minuette Fresnel is usually used at a medium distance from the stage/performing area
because of its focus length and size.
There are optional barn door accerssories which are attached to the front of the light to
control the shape of the beam. Its job is to isolate the space around the circular light to give a
more defined shape.
It is possible to add colour to these lights by inserting a gel frame into the front. For example
if the scene in a production had a cool, cold atmosphere you may choose to add a blue gel.
And if the scene had a warm atmosphere, an amber gel may be chosen. The gel sheet must
have a frame because it is likely to melt without one due to the heat of the light.
Key Components & Accessories:
G Clamp & bolt/wing nut
Safety Chain
650w Bulb
Barn Doors
Gel Frame
15amp Plug
