This document outlines a comparative organizer between the theories of Piaget and Vygotsky on child development and learning. It structures the comparison into 4 rounds that discuss: 1) children's internal/social knowledge development; 2) the role of environment; 3) the relationship between learning and development; and 4) the development of cognition and language. It then provides a design plan for a video that will contrast Piaget and Vygotsky's perspectives using the concepts of assimilation, accommodation, modeling, scaffolding, and fading within an authentic learning activity framework.
