1. The document summarizes the agenda and activities for an Advisory Board Meeting for the Knee High Project in November 2012.
2. The agenda includes introductions, discussions on the project, and presentations on the research conducted so far including stages of early childhood development and emerging themes.
3. Attendees are asked to provide expertise, critique the research outputs, and help prioritize areas of focus and where real impact could be achieved through the project's work.
Jane Lewis, from Woodward-Lewis and Susan Ritchie, an Involve associate and director of Mutual Gain, give an introduction to Positive Deviance – a problem solving approach within communities based on the observation that through their uncommon (or deviant) behaviour some individuals and groups within communities develop better solutions to problems than others – explain how it works and when to use the approach.

This workshop focuses on social responsibility and includes an intense lineup of participatory design exercises that touch on a series of methods for designing compelling user experiences. Participants are introduced to psychological and business model concepts to help teams craft unique mobile engagement and experiences. Working through user motivations, perceived abilities and discovering opportune moments for triggering habit changing actions, teams will explore applying behavioural psychology to empathize and connect with intended mobile users.
Global footprints: Navigating Leadership for the FutureCheryl Doig
We live in complex times, where there are often many choices and no clear path to follow. This presentation explores critical capabilities that leaders will need to thrive in a networked, global environment.
Purposeful Community and Change Leadership for the 21st Century -Handout #10 ...ohedconnectforsuccess
June 29, 10:30am – noon, Room: Union A
Purposeful Community touches all aspects of the learning process. The four components of Purposeful Community will be explored in relation to increasing student achievement and growth. Participants will learn about the phases of the change-leadership process in the Ohio Appalachian Collaborative (called Enhancing Leadership Quality for Collaborative Action Impact). A mindset-management approach to leadership and delivery models will be shared, which will assist participants in creating a plan for Purposeful Community and Change Leadership in their own school or district.

The Design Council enables people to use design to transform communities, business and the environment for the better. As an enterprising charity, our work places design at the heart of creating value by stimulating innovation in business and public services, improving our built environment and tackling complex social issues. We inspire new design thinking, encourage public debate and inform government policy to improve everyday life and help meet tomorrow’s challenges today.
The Design Council in partnership with Guy’s and St Thomas’ Charity and the London Boroughs of Southwark and Lambeth, will deliver a programme of work that aims to catalyse innovation in ‘early years’ child health and wellbeing.
To provide strategic advice and guidance to ensure the successful running of the first phase of this programme. The Advisory Board will act as champions and advocates to:raise the profile of the programme across relevant networks including government, industry, the general public and the media advise on appropriate measures and evaluation criteria for subsequent phases of the programmefurther refine the programme’s vision and success criteria.

The two main aims for this first stage is build up a body of research and translate this research into clear and compelling opportunities and design briefs. This research will include ….We are also very keen to share our pocesses, our learning, and any tools along the way. In a bid to give everyone we work with the tools and confidence to try some of this out themselves. We have a blog where we are putting all our learning, we will be sharing the outputs and tools along the way as much as possible and at the end.And please do ask us if you’re keen to get anything more.
I will now give an overview of this first phase along with some detail on the stages involvedUnderstanding and prioritising the issues pertaining to early years health and wellbeing in Southwark, Lambeth and beyond.
