This document provides an overview of Near Field Communication (NFC) technology. It discusses how NFC works using short-range wireless communication between devices within 4 cm of each other. The document traces the history of NFC from its establishment in 2004 to its uses today. Examples are given of how NFC enables e-wallets for mobile payments and "smart tags" for transmitting data. Potential applications discussed include use in airports, railways, mobile payments, and device-to-device sharing.
The document discusses the rise of Industry 4.0 and the Internet of Things (IoT), and how it will dramatically change society faster than previous technological developments. It notes that the paper packaging industry is currently at a disadvantage compared to other industries in relation to Industry 4.0. Specifically, there are few producers of paper, cardboard, or corrugated boxes that have relationships with technology firms to apply things like near-field communication tags to their packaging solutions. The rise of IoT and smart technologies like RFID chips will lead to major changes in areas like retail, with stores like Amazon Go implementing checkout-free shopping where purchases are automatically tracked and billed through connected devices and sensors. While these developments may sound like science fiction

Seamless Integration of Communication and Technologyjamcin
Seamless integration of communication and technology has risen due to the ubiquity of mobile phones and the desire for simplification. The seamless experience is exemplified by winning contests through scanning codes, learning property details by scanning, and discovering the history of food ordered in a restaurant. Currently, seamless technology is used by under 15 million Americans, mostly younger males. Forces driving further integration include the quantified self movement and growing use of QR codes and NFC technology to easily access information anywhere. This is changing the retail and food experiences through new interactions, more product information, personalized shopping, customer service, and tracing the origins of food. Seamless technology provides additional information through NFC tags and allows sharing thoughts about artworks. While

Digital payments rides sound wave technologyeTailing India
Sound wave technology is emerging as a potential new way to enable digital payments without internet or NFC. An algorithm encodes payment data into sound waves which can be transmitted from one device to another to initiate offline payments. The receiving device decrypts the data to complete the transaction. Several companies in India like Paytm, HDFC Bank, and YES Bank are exploring this technology as it works on any device without needing special hardware. Digital payments in India are expected to grow substantially in the coming years as technology and regulations advance.
Digital disruption refers to changes enabled by digital technologies that disrupt established ways of doing business. There are three types of digital disruption: access, which allows direct engagement between shoppers and suppliers; economics, which enables more transactions at lower costs; and performance, which delivers better value through expanding digital capabilities. Traditional paths to purchase have been disrupted, with consumers now researching options online before shopping. Stores must evolve to provide a destination experience using technology like RFID and mobile POS to remain relevant in the digital age.

HijackLoader Evolution: Interactive Process HollowingDonato Onofri
CrowdStrike researchers have identified a HijackLoader (aka IDAT Loader) sample that employs sophisticated evasion techniques to enhance the complexity of the threat. HijackLoader, an increasingly popular tool among adversaries for deploying additional payloads and tooling, continues to evolve as its developers experiment and enhance its capabilities.
In their analysis of a recent HijackLoader sample, CrowdStrike researchers discovered new techniques designed to increase the defense evasion capabilities of the loader. The malware developer used a standard process hollowing technique coupled with an additional trigger that was activated by the parent process writing to a pipe. This new approach, called "Interactive Process Hollowing", has the potential to make defense evasion stealthier.
