The technology sector in India has a major impact on the Indian economy. The industry has grown from US$4 billion in 1998 to more than US$80 billion in 2014, employing directly and indirectly to more than 10 million people.
India’s growth in this sector has caused a chain of growth in all the sectors of the industry, thereby triggering not only outsourcing of projects from clients across the globe, but it has also instigated sectors in India to adapt newer technology trends to become more competitive in the market place.
Currently, a host of Indian companies are going global with their offerings in the market place. The technology revolution for the last 15 years has propelled a huge growth and a largely educated and technology focused workforce, which is leading India to become one of the top economies in the world.

Visuals affect emotions and make a significant impact on our perception of a product’s performance. Let’s do a deep dive on how visual perception works and what product teams can do to take advantage of that knowledge.
As human beings, we enjoy beautiful and attractive products. But have you ever noticed these type of products also seem to work better? The reason for that is our emotional system which has a significant impact on how our cognitive system operates. When we interact with an artifact, its appearance has an immediate emotional effect on us. Emotions tell us if the situation is safe or dangerous, good or bad. They influence all the decisions we are making.
In this talk, I will explain why and how emotions can influence a product’s success and what role visuals play in producing them. Through a series of various screen examples, I will demonstrate how humans perceive objects, why establishing a clear visual hierarchy is essential, and how details matter.
Not only designers but all product team members, especially product/project managers and developers should have solid knowledge of human visual perception. This will improve their understanding of designs, communication with designers and will inevitably lead to producing better user experiences.

Capstone Project: Luxury Handloom Saree Brand
As part of my college project, I applied my learning in brand strategy to create a comprehensive project for a luxury handloom saree brand. Key aspects of this project included:
- *Competitor Analysis:* Conducted in-depth competitor analysis to identify market position and differentiation opportunities.
- *Target Audience:* Defined and segmented the target audience to tailor brand messages effectively.
- *Brand Strategy:* Developed a detailed brand strategy to enhance market presence and appeal.
- *Brand Perception:* Analyzed and shaped the brand perception to align with luxury and heritage values.
- *Brand Ladder:* Created a brand ladder to outline the brand's core values, benefits, and attributes.
- *Brand Architecture:* Established a cohesive brand architecture to ensure consistency across all brand touchpoints.
This project helped me gain practical experience in brand strategy, from research and analysis to strategic planning and implementation.
October 2017 saw the launch of eBay's experimental shopping experience – The Art of Shopping – in which consumers wore monitors to track the electrical activity in their brains. A joint enterprise with London's Saatchi Art, selected guests browsed galleries featuring specially chosen artworks, standing in front of their ten favorite pieces for at least twenty seconds. Participants received a personalized report and a digital shopping cart containing items based on their subconscious preferences.

In April 2017, the Singapore Tourism Board measured people’s brainwaves to create a travel guide based on emotions. Headsets worn by an entire family whilst on vacation in Singapore recorded their emotional responses to 20 different activities using electroencephalography, which measures brain activity. Scientists compared this data to information the family wrote down in a personality questionnaire to see how different experiences lead to different emotions. The Board hopes to develop this research further to offer tailormade travel itineraries to tourists in the future.
