1. Props
An item on stage or on screen by actors/actresses duringaperformance. A
prop is an object mobile or portable on set distinct from the performers,
location or costumes.
We will be using rope as a prop in the film trailer; I
think this will be a really good prop to use because it’s
usually used in films with possessed people such as the
last exorcism. We are going o be using it to tie up the
victim of the possession ‘Darcey’ becausethe other
characters want to get rid of he evil spirit to prevent
any deaths.
Props like children’s toys are commonly used in horror
films because it scares the audience because they don’t
like the unknown, so if a children’s toy moves with out
anyone touching it, it can get a bit creepy like someone
it watching them. Also it hints that there may be a
child’s spirit around. If the toy is to move without
seeing anyone touch it, it would scare the audience. Or
moving the head of a dolly to face the camera or the
character would also be very scary. Or when words are
spelt out will children’s brick such as ‘ I’m watching
you’ your next’ ‘I’m going to kill you’ also is scary to
the audience.
