FPSOs are floating production, storage, and offloading systems used in offshore oil and gas production. They are converted tankers that produce hydrocarbons, store them onboard, and then offload them to shuttle tankers for transport to shore. FPSOs typically have oil and gas processing equipment, storage tanks, living quarters, and mooring or dynamic positioning systems to remain on location. Produced liquids and gas are transferred from subsea wells to the FPSO where they are separated, stored, and offloaded to tankers for transport to shore.
The document provides safety instructions and information for a ship visit. It outlines what to do in case of emergencies, safety gear requirements, smoking areas, and includes a brief ship history. A tour of the vessel will be given and closed toe shoes are required. The muster point in case of an emergency in the poop deck area is now at the lifeboats on Deck D, port side.
The document discusses approaches to reduce costs and timelines for FPSO projects. It suggests moving away from overly prescriptive and optimized standards and designs towards more simplified, fit-for-purpose solutions. This includes standardizing equipment, leveraging contractor expertise, and focusing engineering efforts only on essential systems. A goal-setting rather than prescriptive requirements approach is proposed to provide flexibility while still ensuring safety. Adopting these changes could help lower costs and schedules while not compromising quality, by applying the right level of engineering and standards based on risk assessments. Implementing a roadmap involving equipment manufacturers, contractors and oil companies could help transition the industry towards these revised approaches.

FPSOs (Floating Production Storage and Offloading vessels) are increasingly being used for deepwater and ultra-deepwater oil and gas exploration and production. FPSOs can be moored in shallow, deep, and ultra-deep waters, making them suitable for areas that fixed platforms cannot access. They are also mobile, which allows them to be disconnected and moved to safer locations if needed. While FPSO projects require large investments and long timelines, rising oil prices in recent years have made these projects more attractive to investors. However, contractual issues around FPSO projects can be complex, as various subcontracts are involved, and risks related to delays, damages, and liabilities must be carefully addressed.

Understanding User Needs and Satisfying ThemAggregage
https://www.productmanagementtoday.com/frs/26903918/understanding-user-needs-and-satisfying-them
We know we want to create products which our customers find to be valuable. Whether we label it as customer-centric or product-led depends on how long we've been doing product management. There are three challenges we face when doing this. The obvious challenge is figuring out what our users need; the non-obvious challenges are in creating a shared understanding of those needs and in sensing if what we're doing is meeting those needs.
In this webinar, we won't focus on the research methods for discovering user-needs. We will focus on synthesis of the needs we discover, communication and alignment tools, and how we operationalize addressing those needs.
Industry expert Scott Sehlhorst will:
• Introduce a taxonomy for user goals with real world examples

FPSOS IN KEPPEL MOORED FPSO
SHIPYARD, SINGAPORE Rationale:
As field and subsea infrastructure continue to get complex, choice of the right type of
mooring and riser system is very critical. It is no secret that a variety of factors have
to be considered before narrowing down on the right solution. The main purpose of
the proposed workshop is to give to the attendees a good understanding of the basis
necessary for the selection of the station keeping facility for the FPSO. Every available
option will be described; their pros and cons will be discussed. Examples on state of art
turret systems will also be presented.
Discussion Points:
Examining the Turret vs Spread mooring systems and the impact of field
specifications on the choice of the same
External vs Internal Turret – Which one is better and when?
Permanent vs Disconnect able turret moored FPSOs– How reliable is the disconnect
and reconnect sequence?
What are the associated optimised riser solutions available?

Products - A Technip Facility, Corrosion Management
Johor Bahru, Malaysia Framework for the FPSO
Rationale:
Corrosion control design and management for a Floating Production Storage and
Offloading installations (FPSO) is a challenging endeavour. FPSOs generally operate
in quite corrosive conditions. There are significantly increased challenges to design and
operate FPSO’s in these corrosive conditions. Environmental factors such as relatively
high ambient temperatures, humidity and cargo temperatures are bound to have a
huge influence on the corrosion vulnerability of the vessel. Therefore selecting a cost
effective corrosion control design that addresses both the fabrication and operational
aspects is tricky. This workshop will analyse the various forms of corrosion that could
impact the FPSO and focus on specific strategies to mitigate the same.
Discussion Points:
How to select a cost effective corrosion protection system based on a combination of
corrosion margins, coating systems and cathodic protection
Devising an operation inspection, maintenance and repair strategies for the selected
corrosion protection system
How should the approach for choice of a corrosion mitigation system vary between
newbuild FPSOs vs. existing vessels (conversions)
