Calculate the current in the lamp and its power consumption. 5. A p.d of 1.35V causes a current of 465 micro-­‐Amperes to flow in a conductor. Calculate the resistance of the conductor. 6. An accidental short circuit to a 240V supply is caused by the connection of a component of 8.5 milli-­‐Ohms across the supply terminals. What will be the short circuit current? 7. What is the voltage across an electric heater of 5-­‐Ohms through which passes a current of 22A? 8. A p.d of 12V is applied to a 7.5-­‐Ohms resistor for a period of 5 seconds. Calculate the electric charge (in Coulombs) transferred in this time period. 9. A voltage of 20V is required to cause a current of 2A to flow in a resistor of resistance 10-­‐Ohms. What voltage will be required to flow the same amount of current if the resistance were 40-­‐Ohms.
