A short presentation on the architecture of the Masdar Inst. of Tech in Abu Dhabi. The presentation was done as a case study for a college project of desgining a residential block for the students. The focus therefore is on the residetial block of the Inst. here rather than its other numerous feat.s.
Hereby, I tried to make a case study report on the mixed-use building, for the sake of my design development. I tried to choose futuristic development on the condition of present Bangladesh.
Hope this study will help anyone to gain an idea on Mixed-use building
Menara Mesiniaga is located on a major highway from the airport to Kuala Lampur. It is in a highly visible location
with few buildings within the surrounding context.Subang Jaya is near Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. The climate is considered tropical. The year round temperature, heat and humidity are fairly similar throughout the year. The Menara Mesiniaga is a built work that utilizes a basis of traditional Malaysian building
models and their transition or evolution into modern principles.

Distributed network monitoring of wireless networks (Mobility Field Day 1)NetBeez, Inc.
Stefano Gridelli, CEO and Co-Founder of NetBeez, discusses a new approach to monitoring large wireless networks in metropolitan areas. This use case focuses on the application of distributed sensors using wireless interfaces to monitor health and report on conditions back to a central system.

the presentation is about the encoding, capacity, retention duration, forgetting and retrieval of information in long term memory. it also introduce several studies done
A complete case study on group housing project,
sustainable environment.

2) Amrapali Silicon City, Noida
3) Interlace Housing, Singapore
The Interlace is a 1,040-unit apartment building complex located at the boundary between Bukit Merah and Queenstown, Singapore. Noteworthy for its break from the typical tower design in cities with high population densities, it resembles Jenga blocks irregularly stacked upon each other.
Interlace consists of six storey blocks staggered in a hexagonal arrangements surrounding eight courtyards. The blocks are stacked four high at the center to provide maximum of 24 floors. This provides almost every home with a wide view of the surrounding areas. The courtyards have swimming pools. more info...............in the slides.
3. Pollution Combat
-Rehabilitate + Reuse
Location: Skouries
Time: after mining
Setting: mining project is over and Skouries is heavily polluted
Pollution: soil, air, water
Skouries is a Greek city famous for gold mining. After
mining, there are three kinds of pollutions: soil, air and
water pollution. Along the most polluted river, I use
excavators to create a sprial vortex landscape and then
install different purifying machines in some of these spirals
to deal with the pollution problems.

5. Interweaving Roof
-Black & White
In St. Louis, Delmar Boulevard is the line that divides a city by race and
perspective. My design is a community center located at Delmar
Boulevard, which includes different programs like cafe, gallery, library,
classroom, social security office. The consistent roof connects these
programs together and helps to improve the interaction of black and
white residents along Delmar Boulevard.

Rebirth of Shophouse
As the major education zone, University City also has the
largest Asian community in Saint Louis. Now University City’s
government has a proposal for an International District along
Olive Boulevard, thus I want to transform the shophouse - a
typical Asian mixed-use residential typology to cater to the
needs of this International District and help the development
of a genuine community in University City.
From the case study of three different shophouse typologies,
the patio/atrium in the house has become an indoor public
space dividing but also connecting different programs under
one roof, in which courtyard and staircase will be incorporat-
ed. The public space follows the circulation between programs
to link them together. These public space can be not only
indoor atrium, courtyard and staircase, but also outdoor
dining area, community garden and plaza. The series of public
space associate seperate shophouses together, helping to
create a hybrid urban density, improving social dynamics and
social interaction.

Concessing to the city and nature, the first level of building
is a mass divided according to circulation, which makes the
highrise better melt into the nature and neighborhood.
Moreover, the hanging gardens on each level of the tower
will help to introduce natural sunlight and ventilation.

-Renovation of Arsenal
Since the stuffy and damp air in Chongqing, the building is made as “a
green building breathing like organism”, which means the building can
release moisture, heat and exhaust during the breath. The inspiration of
building comes from vernacular, such as local bamboo material and
layout of local housing.
