Mr. Chandan Maniklal Shah
“When you work on a higher intent and put your mind, body and soul into it, you go beyond
yourself and create a greater impact.”
This is the principle that Mr. Chandan Maniklal Shah – the chairman of Evergreen
Micronutrients Pvt. Ltd. – has been living by ever since he rolled-up his sleeves as an
entrepreneur. Mr. Shah is a Chemical Engineer from Manipal Institute of Technology and
began his professional journey with National Chemical Laboratories (NCL), Pune as a
Research Scientist. Soon, in 1991, the field of micronutrients caught his attention and it gave
birth to the Entrepreneur – Mr. Shah – and his Evergreen Micronutrients. Those were the
early days when the importance of Micronutrients in plant growth promoters was
established and the companies had started providing micronutrients mixed in fertilizers.
He is methodical, resilient and a visionary. This combined with his research-oriented
attitude made him identify the right physiological needs of every crop variety. Starting with
only four products that catered to vegetables, fruits, grapes and cotton, slowly and steadily,
Mr. Shah introduced newer products to the market and its results were soon felt by its
customers. Today, the company has about 40 products, three manufacturing facilities,
dealer & distribution network of 1,100 members and four verticals.
He is an all-rounder and invests his time wisely into business, family, sports, fulfilling social
responsibilities and explore various adventures that life has to offer. He is health-conscious
and dedicates the first few hours of the day, every day, in active sports and Gyming. He has
completed sky-diving from about 13,000 feet in Spain, a feat that fetched him a name in
Limca book of records. He cycles about 80 kms with his group and is an active contributor in
every event organized by the entrepreneurial community – The Chrysalis Entrepreneurial
Forum. He believes in living life to the fullest and works with an attitude of gratitude. This is
what makes him invest focused time into various social activities. He loves to listen to audio
books relating to management and also shares the knowledge with his staff.
