Educational standards define the knowledge and skills students should possess
at critical points in their educational careers.
Current Education Standard
 Major parts of India are focused only on marks…rather than KNOWLEDGE
 If India has a difference in the quality of education among its states itself, how
will we face the world competition.
MERITS OF COMMERCIALIZATION OF
EDUCATION
 1) Employment Opportunity
 2) Economic Development
 Ability to overcome Global challenges
 4) Personality Development
DEMERITS OF COMMERCIALIZATION
OF EDUCATION

or money. Not focusing quality of education.
 Wrong learning method - focusing only on marks.
 Social forward people taking advantages of the reservation system.
 Education institutions under political leaders.
 Neglects Innate Skills.
 Liberal Licensing & Unqualified Faculty To escape from taxes and to
give low salary.
 Expensive, Poor people get affected more.
 Exorbitant burden for students.
 Many students go abroad for studies.
 Skill Based Learning.
 Focus on Rural Education.

 Teachers Training.
 Subsidies and Grants for Professional Courses.
INCREASE IN THE NUMBER OF
EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION
 Privatization of educational institutes
 Standard and quality of the education decreased
 More for making profits than to a provide quality education.
 Government expenditure on education, as a percentage of the GDP
, has been
decreasing consistently. In 2016-2017, education expenditure was 2.6% of the
GDP.
FOR AND AGAINST
Today education has become an important part of everybody's
life. It is must in today's environment.
FOR :
 Education a business due to increase in more schools and institutes
which are opened to provide education.
 The privatization of educational institutes also helped it to become
from educational institutes to a business.
 The standard and quality of the education decreased due to more
institutes and lack of quality teachers.
 Teachers started concentrating only on those who understand things
by themselves and others are left alone.
AGAINST :
 Institutes like IITs and IIMs are providing good education to make better
future of the students.
 Due to new technologies and globalisation the growth of education industry
is growing.- Education is been given and taken more seriously nowadays
due to high competition in educational area.
 Teachers and students are trying their level best to get updated all the
time and both are trying to provide quality work so that the education
system can produce good talent.
 Education system has developed more and more than the previous times
and it is one of the leading systems in the world.
 Education is very important to grow and helps the country grow too. It
allows a human being to understand and live with challenges and produce
good results. But nowadays it has become a business due to globalization
and privatization of institutes.
Today the education which is being provided by the institutes or
universities are not of that standard which it used to be. Now a days,
education industries main motif is only to earn profit.
ROLE OF GOVERNMENT AUTHORITIES
AND NGOS
 From the last decades India has had various changes in the education system and
interests in the education sector.
 The government has taken some measures to increment the quality of education
and standards in the education system.
 Many schools in India have vast amounts of fees in their schools or colleges .
 Because of this many of the poor students can't afford the fees for their education
 It has made it mandatory for children to educate free of cost for the poor and
provide Food for the childrens .
 The govt has applied few schemes or policies to the students.whereas giving
scholarship opportunities to the Students for developing the skills and for the job
market.
 One of the best positive things is that the child labor has gone down to a great
extent.
 Providing e learning platforms to the students.
Advantages :
• People are less unemployed and some of them are even self-employed.
• Theoretical knowledge.
Disadvantages :
• No practical education, only theory.
• Teaching method is old
NGOS
 In today's world, we must Appreciate the efforts of non-government
organizations for their work in the development sector for the people.
 putting their efforts into social issues. Non-profit organizations are
playing a key role in the construction of healthy and secure
communities.
 The ratio of children dropping out of schools is high, but the role
NGOs have played in promoting education in the country.
 Creating opportunities at low cost for the people in society.
 Contributed money for the educational institutions.
PUBLIC SECTOR
 Public sector education is the section of the economy that is owned
and operated by the government not private businesses or individuals.
 Under various articles of the Indian Constitution, free and compulsory
education is provided as a fundamental right to children between the
ages of 6 and 14. The ratio of public schools to private schools in India
is 7:5.
 The big challenge to Indian education is the burgeoning of private
schools. It is fuelled, among other things, by a false belief that these
schools are better - study has conclusively shown that learning in
private schools is not better than in government schools. Differences
are primarily because private school students come from more
privileged homes with significant beyond-school learning opportunities
and resources.
PRIVATE SECTOR
 Private School is a primary or secondary school not administered by
the government.
 In general, private education is provided in institutions which are
largely privately funded, receiving most of their income from tuition
fees, usually paid by parents.
 the private sector has been expanding access to schooling at a much
faster rate than the public sector in recent years.
 education provided by a private individual or organization, rather
than by the state or a public body. Private education is not an option
for most families.
 A private school is autonomous and generates its own funding through
various sources like student tuition, private grants and endowments.
 Private schools are more or less funded by students tuition and
administered by a private body.
 Curriculum is decided by the school board*Have fewer students than
government schools.
 Have more facilities and advanced technology than government
schools.
 Have different criteria for recruiting teachers.
GOVERNMENT INSTITUTIONS QUALITY
 The Commissionerate of Collegiate Education has announced a cash award of
Rs. 50,000 to the students who complete their graduation from Government
Colleges and secured admission in national institutions like NIT, IIT and central
universities across the country.
 In order to improve admissions in Government Degree Colleges, several State-
run institutes have embarked on a campaign highlighting the advantages of
studying in government colleges, especially newly-introduced incentives and
cash awards.
 Barring the town-based SR&BGNR Government Arts and Science College and a
few other government colleges, the remaining State-run colleges in the
district have recorded low admissions in the last academic year, sources said.
Of the total 850 seats available in degree courses in SR&BGNR
College, 828 seats were filled in the last academic year.
1) low fees
2) Reserved category will be very benefitted from first. If you are not
then you can easily compete with others and score well.
3) You will be placed in a good industrial company as few people
prefer govt colleges only as they are more academically developed
(theoretical) compared to private ones..
ROLE OF RESERVATION SYSTEM
 Reservation is a thing that suits with the sentence 'for the need' (ie) it
should be provided to the person in need on their rights.
 In India, Reservation system provides with the allotment of seats
based on their caste standards of all the basis.
 It allows makes the seats based on government quota with the normal
standard fee that been recommended by the government laws.
 It cannot be overruled and in case if failed to follow the rule it may
leads to punishable offense.
 The number of seats in an institution has need to be alloted with
particular seats for government quota which will be given to the
students who are in need to join an educational institution on basis
with counseling held or entrance exams.
 Nowadays many of the educational institutions is moving their part in
business.
 In the name of admissions a vast amount of money is been collected
as donations along with their regular fee structure.
 As in part of school levels these activities is practiced and large
amount of money is been collected in the name of donations.
 Reservation helps us to overcome these barriers by providing
government alloted seats with regular fee structure that should be
practiced.
 Education is a source which need to be provided in free and should be
provided for those who are in need exactly. Ruining the system in the
name of business is an unacceptable truth.
BUSINESS IN E-LEARNING
 Online education is a fast and easy to access mode of education in which
mode of education is internet and it can take place away from the
physical campus .
 Types of online education:
1.Synchronous :Teacher and student have some direct contact.
2.Asynchronous :Instructor and learner do not meet in time or space.
Some popular online education platforms:
CONCLUSION
 In today's world, there are many kinds of businesses and among them,
education is also one business.
 Yes, it is a business. Education is an important aspect in everyone's
lives, which turned into a profit-gaining business. Many students take
their education till high school and stop, they don't go to college to
further their studies.
 To make the country better, the government should make education
free, it will help to make more people educated which helps in the
development of the country.
 It will help all the students who wanted to study but stopped studying
further because of financial problems.
 If the government approves free education for children, they can
achieve their dream
 .Education is the most powerful weapon in today's world.
 It is needed in everyone's life. Education should not be used as a
business.
