This document provides the semester schedule for a Spring 2017 writing course. It is divided into 18 weeks. The first four weeks introduce concepts like why writing is important and the rhetorical situation. Students will write two essays, with the second being a researched apologia. Week 5 focuses on larger perspectives. Library research occurs in week 8 to prepare for an annotated bibliography assignment in week 9. Spring break is in week 10. Later weeks involve presenting research and exploring writing beyond the page. The final weeks involve completing a research paper and multi-modal presentation. Readings are from the textbook Becoming Rhetorical and other sources on the learning platform.
