This document provides information on articles, nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives, numbers and other parts of speech in the English language. It begins by explaining the definite and indefinite articles in English ("a", "an", "the") and how they are used with nouns. It then discusses nouns and their genders, as well as personal pronouns and how they differ from Romanian. Key verb conjugations like the present tense of "to be" are also outlined. The document concludes by covering plural nouns, demonstrative pronouns, possessives, and cardinal numbers in English.
The document outlines the structure of a Romanian language course, dividing it into chapters on nouns, articles, adjectives, adverbs, pronouns, verbs, verb tenses, prepositions and more. It then provides details on nouns, including the types of nouns, gender, number, irregular plural forms, compound nouns, possessive forms, and countable vs. uncountable nouns. The next section covers articles, distinguishing between definite and indefinite articles and describing their uses.
The document discusses the Past Continuous tense in English. It provides the affirmative, negative, and interrogative forms using was/were + verb+ing. It explains that the Past Continuous expresses actions that were ongoing during a period in the past, equivalent to the imperfect tense in Romanian. It gives examples of time expressions that can be used and sample sentences. It notes that some verbs like perception verbs and verbs of being cannot be used in the continuous tenses.
This document discusses phrasal verbs, which are verbs combined with prepositions or adverbs that can change the meaning of the verb. A phrasal verb's meaning is sometimes similar to the base verb but is often very different. The adverb or preposition can significantly alter the meaning. Additionally, many phrasal verbs have multiple meanings depending on context, so care must be taken to understand the intended definition. Examples are provided to illustrate how phrasal verbs can have related or completely different meanings than the base verb.

3. mik
De fleste kender nok ”mik” fra frasen ”Jeg hedder Ida”, som på grønlandsk hedder
”Idamik ateqarpunga”
Men ”mik” bruges også for at fortælle, med HVAD man gør noget.
F.eks. ”Jeg åbnede den med en økse” (økse = ulimaat) = ulimaammik ammarpara.
Mik bruges også med –qar- (at have):
Ataatsimik paneqarpunga = Jeg har en datter.
4. nik
… bruges ligesom mik, men i forbindelse med flertal:
”Ved hjælp af briller” eller ”med briller” kommer således til at hedde
”Isarussanik” (isarussat = briller)
5. soq og toq
…kan betyde ”En som… ” .
Konsonant-stamme: Sinippoq = Hun sover
R-stamme: Imerpoq = Hun drikker
9. mi og ni
…betyder i. +mi betyder ”i en” : Illoqarfimmi = i byen
mens +ni betyder ”i flere” eller ”i nogens”:
Illoqarfinni = i byerne / Illoqarfiani = i hendes by*
*Se evt. www.slideshare.net/DrudeAviajaBeckyLars/forholdsendelser
10. neq
…svarer til ”ning” på dansk. Nerivoq betyder ”hun spiser” men ”nerineq” betyder
spisning. Eksempel: Neriniartarfimmi nerineq = Spisning på restaurant
Det er også almindeligt at man sætte en ejer på: nerinera = hans spisning.
Eller: nerinerat = deres spisning.
11. lu
…betyder og eller også. Det særlige ved +lu er, at det
sættes EFTER ordet. Avi Hansilu = Avi og Hans
Uangalu = også jeg
12. neqar
…betyder ”at blive” i passiv forstand - som for eksempel ”Qimmimit
asaneqarpoq” = Hun bliver elsket af hunden.
13. saq og taq
… betyder ”noget …” som for eksempel ”noget spist” (nerisaq)
Der findes en mængde andre former:
-aq som i pisiaq = noget købt
-gaq som i atuagaq = noget læst (en bog!)
+sartagaq som i iisartagaq = tablet (en, som man plejer at sluge. Pleje = +sar- )
Den ses også med ejeforhold:
naapitara = min mødte én
/ en, som jeg har mødt
naapitaq = en mødt
-ra = min
