Embarrassing blemishes can hit everyone — from eighth graders to engineers.
While acne is not a serious health threat, it is significant in an emotional and social sense. If you have acne, often you have less self-confidence, and this can affect your social life or even your productivity at work.
Learning how to stop breakouts before they happen is the key to keeping acne under control.
Why do I get acne?
Acne is an inflammatory skin problem caused by one or more of three things:
Plugging of hair follicles
Hormonal fluctuations that cause the body to secret excess oil
Bacterial infection that causes inflammation
Acne severity can range from blackheads and whiteheads to cysts.
Acne is a skin condition that is common amongst teenagers, but younger children do get it as well. Acne develops when your follicles become bunged up with dead skin. It normally appears on your face, chest, neck, shoulders and back. The spots clear up and other ones come in their place.
Stretch marks can appear on the breasts as a person’s
body changes shape due to pregnancy or other events.
Stretch marks are common and do not pose a health risk,
but some people seek to remove them.
Home therapies and medications may help remove stretch marks, but
there is little evidence to show that many of them work. Treatments aim to
do this in various ways, including
:
stimulating collagen production
increasing pigmentation and decreasing redness by reducing
vascularization
improving elasticity
increasing
skin hydration
managing inflammation
In this article, learn about why stretch marks occur and get some tips on
removing them

It’s no secret that your skin changes as you age. What you do for your skin or against your skin will have ramifications over time, no matter what. Whether you notice the loss of elasticity or volume, a few fine lines and discoloration may appear where you didn’t use to have it. These changes can be a bit stressful every time you navigate a new skincare routine. The products that worked in you when you were in your 20s may lose their efficacy, and you constantly have to adjust your regimen based on your skin’s current needs.
Along with acne and skin aging, enlarged pores are also one skin problem that tops the list. While they are entirely a cosmetic problem, some people find it annoying, and others think they would look better if they had smaller pores.
Pores are tiny openings in the skin that releases oils and sweat. They are also connected to your hair follicles. If your pores appear more prominent, it may be because of acne, increased sebum production, sun damage, and non-comedogenic makeup.
Although you can’t change the size of your pores, here are some ways to help minimize their appearance:
You must give more importance to your skincare on daily basis. Your skin is the largest organ in your body. It serves as a protective barrier between your insides and the rest of the world. That should make it clear immediately why it is so important to take good care of your skin.
Many things can cause our skin to age. After all, there’s no harm in having wrinkles, and few facial lines can be endearing and add character to your face. But it’s no secret that many would prefer to keep them in check.
One thing that we cannot change is the natural aging process. As time pass by, we all get visible lines on our faces. Naturally, you lose some of its elasticity, and you notice your skin becoming drier and thinner.
Without medical or surgical intervention, it can be challenging to reverse the appearance of wrinkles. The good news is, there are steps you can take and lifestyle changes you can make to slow down their appearance.
Here are ways to keep your skin young and reduce premature skin aging:
Science Growing Younger
Everyone who is older than 25 wants to look younger. Discover the science behind how you can!
The science of growing younger may seem like a fairy-tale or snake oil. The truth is that a growing body of research is pointing to the causes of aging. By knowing the causes, we can prevent the damage that these processes do to our body, and in some cases, even reverse it.
By making smarter lifestyle choices, we can also preserve a youthful mind, body and spirit well into our senior years. Age really can become just a number once you’ve discovered the science of growing younger.
So let’s start first with the main area of our body that can give away our chronological age if we don’t take proper care of it, our skin.
Can’t imagine leaving the house without makeup? We understand. With blushes to foundations to mascaras and everything in between, have you ever wondered what’s under all that makeup? Specifically, how are all these beauty products affecting your skin, especially when you layer them every day?
While we understand your love for makeup, using it every day can trouble your skin in many ways. Makeup contains a lot of chemicals and components which may or may not suit your skin type. Some of these components can even cause irritation, itchiness, and sometimes untimely aging.

FUE Vs. FUT Hair Transplant: Which Is The Best Method For Hair Transplant?
Hair loss is becoming an increasingly common issue among people of age these days.
According to research, 85% of men and 40% of women are impacted by some level of hair loss across the world.
But thanks to the advancements in healthcare and technology, it is now possible to regain a head full of hair with hair transplantation.
For the uninitiated, hair transplantation is a type of cosmetic surgery that moves hair you already have to an area where is thin or no hair on the scalp of your head. This type of surgery is usually performed by either hair surgeon or plastic surgeons.
It has become a beacon of hope for anyone with an extreme hair loss issue.
Currently, there are two popular hair transplantation methods out there for hair restoration:
Follicular Unit Excision (FUE)
Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT)
Both these hair transplant methods can restore your hair and give you naturally thicker and fuller locks.
If you’re serious about getting a hair transplant, it is important to learn everything about each hair transplant method.
In this post, we have explained what is FUE & FUT hair transplant, their benefits, and how to identify which hair transplant method is right for you.
What is a FUE Hair Transplant?
In FUE hair transplantation, the hair surgeon first identifies a donor area from which the follicular unit is extracted.
The donor area is selected based on which area has fuller hair or less noticeable thinning of the area after extraction. To extract or harvest hair, hair surgeon use microscopic circular incisions on your scalp.
After extraction, the hair follicles are prepped for transplantation into the areas with thinning or baldness on the scalp of your hair.
You may experience some redness or soreness for a couple of days after receiving the treatment.

Flu Vaccine Alert in Bangalore Karnatakaaddon Scans
As flu season approaches, health officials in Bangalore, Karnataka, are urging residents to get their flu vaccinations. The seasonal flu, while common, can lead to severe health complications, particularly for vulnerable populations such as young children, the elderly, and those with underlying health conditions.
Dr. Vidisha Kumari, a leading epidemiologist in Bangalore, emphasizes the importance of getting vaccinated. "The flu vaccine is our best defense against the influenza virus. It not only protects individuals but also helps prevent the spread of the virus in our communities," he says.
This year, the flu season is expected to coincide with a potential increase in other respiratory illnesses. The Karnataka Health Department has launched an awareness campaign highlighting the significance of flu vaccinations. They have set up multiple vaccination centers across Bangalore, making it convenient for residents to receive their shots.
To encourage widespread vaccination, the government is also collaborating with local schools, workplaces, and community centers to facilitate vaccination drives. Special attention is being given to ensuring that the vaccine is accessible to all, including marginalized communities who may have limited access to healthcare.
Residents are reminded that the flu vaccine is safe and effective. Common side effects are mild and may include soreness at the injection site, mild fever, or muscle aches. These side effects are generally short-lived and far less severe than the flu itself.
Healthcare providers are also stressing the importance of continuing COVID-19 precautions. Wearing masks, practicing good hand hygiene, and maintaining social distancing are still crucial, especially in crowded places.
Protect yourself and your loved ones by getting vaccinated. Together, we can help keep Bangalore healthy and safe this flu season. For more information on vaccination centers and schedules, residents can visit the Karnataka Health Department’s official website or follow their social media pages.
Stay informed, stay safe, and get your flu shot today!

New Directions in Targeted Therapeutic Approaches for Older Adults With Mantl...i3 Health
i3 Health is pleased to make the speaker slides from this activity available for use as a non-accredited self-study or teaching resource.
This slide deck presented by Dr. Kami Maddocks, Professor-Clinical in the Division of Hematology and
Associate Division Director for Ambulatory Operations
The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center, will provide insight into new directions in targeted therapeutic approaches for older adults with mantle cell lymphoma.
STATEMENT OF NEED
Mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) is a rare, aggressive B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) accounting for 5% to 7% of all lymphomas. Its prognosis ranges from indolent disease that does not require treatment for years to very aggressive disease, which is associated with poor survival (Silkenstedt et al, 2021). Typically, MCL is diagnosed at advanced stage and in older patients who cannot tolerate intensive therapy (NCCN, 2022). Although recent advances have slightly increased remission rates, recurrence and relapse remain very common, leading to a median overall survival between 3 and 6 years (LLS, 2021). Though there are several effective options, progress is still needed towards establishing an accepted frontline approach for MCL (Castellino et al, 2022). Treatment selection and management of MCL are complicated by the heterogeneity of prognosis, advanced age and comorbidities of patients, and lack of an established standard approach for treatment, making it vital that clinicians be familiar with the latest research and advances in this area. In this activity chaired by Michael Wang, MD, Professor in the Department of Lymphoma & Myeloma at MD Anderson Cancer Center, expert faculty will discuss prognostic factors informing treatment, the promising results of recent trials in new therapeutic approaches, and the implications of treatment resistance in therapeutic selection for MCL.
Target Audience
Hematology/oncology fellows, attending faculty, and other health care professionals involved in the treatment of patients with mantle cell lymphoma (MCL).
Learning Objectives
1.) Identify clinical and biological prognostic factors that can guide treatment decision making for older adults with MCL
2.) Evaluate emerging data on targeted therapeutic approaches for treatment-naive and relapsed/refractory MCL and their applicability to older adults
3.) Assess mechanisms of resistance to targeted therapies for MCL and their implications for treatment selection

2. Any dermatologist or skincare expert will tell you it’s never too late to start caring for your skin—yet
the earlier you develop a regimen, the better.
Generally, prevention is more effective than correction. That means embracing certain habits and
ingredients into your daytime and nighttime routines during the twenties & thirties so that by the time
you reach the forties, you’re more likely to have tighter, brighter, healthier skin.
It is essential to use brightening and anti-wrinkle products even before any deep-set fine lines or sunspots
show up as microscopic changes like excess pigmentation or loss of collagen start in our twenties and
progress so slowly that you don’t usually see them until your thirties or forties. By then, they’re much harder
to assess and treat.
At the same time, there is so much skincare advice in the world that filtering the most important habits to
implement on before forty can be complicated and tricky.
When developing a skincare routine, it is important that you adjust to what feels doable and fun to you
personally. Otherwise, you won’t be able to stick with it, and eventually, it won’t work. Here we provide you
10 smart skincare things dermatologists think you should do in 2021.
3. Take some time to jot down your top concerns and any details you can recollect about them. For instance,
if your skin is exposed to the sun and got tanned, mention to your doctor how long before this happened,
or what was the duration of your sun exposure. If you used sunscreen, kindly enlist the product as well.
If you’re seeing the dermatologist about a particular spot or rash, list how long you’ve had it, what the first
symptoms were like, and how it’s changed over time.
Oftentimes, the history you give to the doctors can help them rule out certain causes and provide a more
accurate diagnosis, which in turn might be helpful to treat the concern more precisely.
1.Think About, and Write
Down Your Concerns or Symptoms Beforehand
4. Looking younger is amazing and all but making sure your skin is protected against any stubborn
pigmentation, autoimmune disorders, or skin cancer is way more amazing. That is why it is smart to make
an early habit of getting full-body exams by a dermatologist at least once a year.
Always make time to get a baseline skin evaluation from your dermatologist to make sure there are no
early signs of any bothering skin concerns or diseases.
2. Start Getting Head-To-Toe Skin Checks
5. Skin gets drier, flakier, and duller as we age. As a result, it becomes mandatory to develop a habit of
safeguarding skin’s moisture barrier early on.
There are a few truly effective moisturizing ingredients dermatologists always recommend, including
moisture-trapping lipids, that mimic the natural lipids in the skin responsible for making babies’ skin so
soft and silky. However, those deteriorate over time.
Hyaluronic acid or Sodium hyaluronate, a derivative of hyaluronic acid, is the other moisturizing ingredient
all dermatologists recommend using as it promises to re-create the hydration of the hyaluronic acid that
our skin produces naturally. It’s great for moisturizing and hydrating dry, aging skin and reducing wrinkles,
and it especially does wonders for the aging eye area. Consult your doctor before thoroughly starting a
suitable moisturizer.
3. Embrace Smoothening Moisturizing Agents
6. As if the empirical stress of getting older wasn’t enough, there is still more to it than meets the eye.
With aging and maturing, the skin thickens, becomes dull, drab, and lifeless, and pores become
highlighted. Why does this happen?
Generally, as we start to age our dead skin cells don’t shed that as fast as they used to before.
That makes the skin start to look dull and the texture rough. Exfoliating two to three times a week can
help solve or at least stave off some of these concerns. Regular exfoliation can also help your other
skincare products penetrate way better.
4. Exfoliate Two or Three Times a Week
7. Dermatologists concur that the antioxidant vitamin C is one of the most vital ingredients to start using in
your 20s and 30s. The reason being its antioxidant properties that prevent dark spots even before they
start appearing and support collagen before you lose it.
Vitamin C is a terrific skin brightener with firming benefits since it boosts collagen and has antioxidant &
UV protection benefits as well. Apply your vitamin C in the morning before moisturizer and sunscreen for
extra protection.
Dermatologists have said it before, and they will never stop saying this, ”If you incorporate one anti-aging
skincare product into your everyday routine, let it be sunscreen.”
Consistency is the key with sunscreen. You really do have to apply at least SPF 30 every day to keep your
skin glowy, youthful, and most importantly, safe. Apply on all exposed skin surfaces every day every 2 to 3
hours with a commitment to consistency.
5. Get Acquainted with Vitamin C
6. Make Sunscreen the Center of Attention
to Your Routine
8. Just as vitamin C should have a place in your morning routine, retinol should have a routine place at night.
Retinol, a derivative of Vitamin A, works by prompting surface skin cells to turn over and die rapidly, making
way for new cell growth underneath. They prevent the breakdown of collagen and tighten the deeper layer
of skin where wrinkles get their start.
Retinol is a bit of a finicky ingredient, so make sure to choose a product that comes in an opaque,
well-sealed container. Make sure to keep it away from direct sunlight as it’s not photo/sunlight-stable.
Also, because retinol can be irritating on the skin, use it one or two nights a week to start, and then work
your way up to nightly use.
7. Incorporate Retinol Into Your Routine
9. Too much washing, scrubbing, exfoliating, or product use can destroy your skin’s natural protection against
damage. Over drying, over-exfoliating, and over scrubbing start to create a cycle of inflammation, redness,
dryness, flaking, rashes, and breakouts. Eventually, it so happens that we then use more products to try to
fix those issues instead. Sometimes, with the skin, less can be a lot more.
8. Don’t Overdo It With Your Skincare
You know how people with perpetually glowing, radiant skin always say their top tip is to “drink enough
water”? For those of us who deal with skin conditions, that advice tends to elicit an eye roll. Glorious skin is
typically the result of many factors, not just adequate hydration.
However, there is something to the idea that drinking enough water does result in better skin. Studies have
shown time and again that proper hydration can increase your dermal thickness. When you have thick skin,
it’s more proficient at dealing with inflammation and appears smoother.
9. Stay Hydrated
10. Just like brushing your teeth, it’s not enough to care for your skin only once a day. Because skincare during
the daytime is all about protecting your face, and skincare at night is all about repairing it and enhancing
it. Establishing a routine and incorporating the ingredients and the advice above before you go to bed and
when you wake up is the key.
And whatever you do, be sure to cleanse your skin, morning and night religiously. If you only have the energy
to do one thing before bed, let it be to remove the excess dirt and makeup from the face. Unwashed skin
means clogged pores and a dull, uneven complexion. So start here, and work your way uphill.
10. If Nothing Else, Wash Your Damn Face
Conventionally
