1 Peter 5e
1. 10 But the God of all grace, Who hath called us unto His Eternal Glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you . 11 To Him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. Our God is the God of all grace . Grace = charis --From ( chairo ); graciousness … especially the Divine influence upon the heart, and its reflection in the life; including gratitude ) :- acceptable, benefit, favor, gift, grace (-ious), joy, liberality, pleasure, thank (-s, -worthy). 2. The aspect of grace , that I want to discuss tonight: The Divine influence upon our heart, and its reflection in our life. We don't deserve that God should come into us, take out our hard heart born of flesh, And instill in us a new heart born of His Spirit.
3. Ezekiel 36 26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. 27 And I will put My Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in My statutes, and ye shall keep My judgments, and do them . True Salvation by the Grace of God V 26 is the Divine Influence upon our heart. V 27 is the reflection of God's Grace in our life.
4. We can not make one claim that we deserve for God to show any interest is us. Psalms 8 3-4 When I consider Thy heavens, the work of Thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which Thou hast ordained; What is man, that Thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that Thou visitest him? Compared to the infinite universe that God created, finite man seems insignificant; Yet God loves us passionately.
5. How can we explain such a marvelous thing ? I don't know why Jesus loves me. I don't know why He cares. I don't know why He sacrificed His Life, But I'm glad, I'm so glad He did. It doesn't need to be explained ; it just needs to be received and appreciated .
6. 10 But the God of all grace, Who hath called us unto His Eternal Glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you . God has called us to partake of His Eternal Glory by Jesus Christ. That is Amazing Grace . But first we must partake in the suffering of His Son , Jesus Christ.
7. He will make us perfect -- That is a process that lasts from our new birth until the death of this old flesh. God will restore us to our former state before the fall of Adam -- and then some . John 17 17 Sanctify them through Thy Truth: Thy Word is Truth.
8. We are by nature inconstant, unfaithful, and fickle. God will establish us upon the Rock, Jesus Christ. We are not strong in the graces of the fruit of God's Holy Spirit, But God will strengthen us. To persevere and grow in the graces of our Heavenly Father, is our greatest calling .
9. 12 By Silvanus, a faithful brother unto you, as I suppose, I have written briefly, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace of God wherein ye stand. 13 The church that is at Babylon, elected together with you , saluteth you; and so doth Marcus my son. 14 Greet ye one another with a kiss of charity (agape) . Peace be with you all that are in Christ Jesus. Amen.
10. 14 Greet ye one another with a kiss of charity (agape) THAT MARKS US AS BELONGING TO JESUS CHRIST John 13 34 A new Commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. 35 By this shall all men know that ye are My disciples, if ye have love one to another.
11. Peace be with you all that are in Christ Jesus. John 14 27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
