HOW TO WRITE A LAB REPORT
Lab reports are an essential part of all laboratory courses. A lab report is how you explain what you did in an
experiment, what you learned, and what the results meant. You will be required to write a lab reports for labs.
Here is the standard format.
1. FORMAT/TITLE PAGE
The reports should be submitted in .pdf form and should be typed, in Times New Roman, 12 pt font and double
spaced. The title states what you did. It should be brief and should describe the main point/s of the experiment.
Include the following information:
a. The title of the experiment
b. Your name and the names of any lab partners
c. Your teacher’s name
d. The date the lab was performed
2. INTRODUCTION/PURPOSE
Usually the Introduction is one paragraph (5-6 sentences) that explains the objectives or purpose of the lab.
This should be where you state your hypothesis. This section should be written in complete sentences and
should connect lab concepts to class content. The introduction should provide background information on the
history of the concept tested, scientists, theories, and any laws tested in the experiment. It should also contain
any prior knowledge on which the experiment is based including explanations of principles, definitions,
experimental techniques, theories, and laws.
3. MATERIALS
List everything needed to complete your experiment and include the purpose of each item. This includes all
equipment, reagents, and computer programs used to complete the experiment. Drawing of the apparatus
set-up should be included in this section if needed.
4. PROCEDURE
List the steps you completed during your investigation. Be sufficiently detailed so that anyone could read this
Section and duplicate your experiment. Write it as if you were giving directions. Try to use an action verb at the
beginning of each sentence. Number your steps.
5. DATA
Numerical data obtained from you procedure usually is presented as a table. Data encompasses what you
recorded when you conducted the experiment. It is the facts only, not any interpretation of what they mean.
6. RESULTS + ANALYSIS
Results describe in words what the data means.
The Data section contains numbers. The Analysis section contains any calculations you made based on those
number. This is where you interpret the data and determine whether or not a hypothesis was accepted. This is

This assignment is part three of the global health issue paper assignment. After students write about their selected issue, they are required to develop a plan or an intervention to address the issue. Students, for this part of the paper, must assume the role of a consultant who with the data and information identified regarding the country of interest & the selected health issue, must then develop a culturally & systematically appropriate intervention to address the issue. Students should utilize the content covered in the course and conduct additional research to develop a sound plan. This paper should be a maximum of 2 pages. Papers should be thorough, complete, and thoughtful to indicate that you have read, examined, and can apply the concepts in the readings.

b) Relation of MDGs to the formulation of interventions

HOW TO WRITE A LAB REPORT
Lab reports are an essential part of all laboratory courses. A lab report is how you explain what you did in an
experiment, what you learned, and what the results meant. You will be required to write a lab reports for labs.
Here is the standard format.
1. FORMAT/TITLE PAGE
The reports should be submitted in .pdf form and should be typed, in Times New Roman, 12 pt font and double
spaced. The title states what you did. It should be brief and should describe the main point/s of the experiment.
Include the following information:
a. The title of the experiment
b. Your name and the names of any lab partners
c. Your teacher’s name
d. The date the lab was performed
2. INTRODUCTION/PURPOSE
Usually the Introduction is one paragraph (5-6 sentences) that explains the objectives or purpose of the lab.
This should be where you state your hypothesis. This section should be written in complete sentences and
should connect lab concepts to class content. The introduction should provide background information on the
history of the concept tested, scientists, theories, and any laws tested in the experiment. It should also contain
any prior knowledge on which the experiment is based including explanations of principles, definitions,
experimental techniques, theories, and laws.
3. MATERIALS
List everything needed to complete your experiment and include the purpose of each item. This includes all

List the steps you completed during your investigation. Be sufficiently detailed so that anyone could read this

5. DATA
Numerical data obtained from you procedure usually is presented as a table. Data encompasses what you

The objective of this video is to introduce students to the fundamental attribution error and its implications. One implication is that we often have a tendency to judge others unfairly because we do not take into account the situational factors that may have caused them to make unethical decisions. We jump to the conclusion that they are bad people because they did a bad thing. That said, it is important to remember that situational factors are usually explanations for while people err, they are not excuses. The best way to avoid this error, experts say, it to put ourselves in the shoes of others and try to envision the pressures they might have faced.
The other implication of the fundamental attribution error is that we may be too easy on ourselves, if we are not careful. We may too readily find situational factors, organizational pressures and the like and then simply excuse our own conduct.
The fundamental attribution error is the tendency to attribute "causes of behavior to actors (i.e., internal, dispositional factors) rather than the situation (i.e., external, environmental factors." We see that other people have done bad things, and we assume that it is because of their character rather than the fact that they were, perhaps, striving so hard to please their superiors that they did not even notice the ethical issue that they flubbed.
According to some psychologists, the other side of the coin from the fundamental attribution error is the actor-observer bias which is people’s tendency to over-emphasize the role of the situation in their own behaviors. They insist there’s nothing wrong with their character, because their errors are accounted for by some situational factor—the boss’s pressure, the need to feed their families, etc.
Francesca Gino writes: "In particular, one mistake we systematically make is known as the correspondence bias. When making attributions as we evaluate others, we tend to ascribe too little influence to the situation and too much to their dispositions. In simpler terms, we tend to believe that people’s behavior reflects their unique dispositions and skills, when many times it actually reflects aspects of the situation in which they find themselves." This sounds a lot like a different name for the fundamental attribution error.

Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
