Mood Board Analysis
Is there any repetition in the images you have collected? Repeated colours/images styles/fonts/tone/mood
There isn’t much repetition as there is a wide range of things I am considering to capture for my photographic series. However I have added
somethings in specifically to guide me in my project. I have added images of people doing action sports as I would like to capture people in
motion for my project, as I feel like it would add more flare to my project. I have also put still images within my moodboard as I would like to
capture some images of this type as well, as they are easy to capture but can prove very easy to editi into something different. It is also very
easy to capture a vidually appealing still image as you don’t have to time your shot very tightly. The colour scheme is not something I
incorporated into my mood board as there will not be a set colour scheme for my portfolio as I will be editing my photos in different styles
anyway, rendering a colour scheme pointless as I would be too difficult to uphold with such a broad variety of images. I have added zero font
styles to my moodboard as there is going to be minimal to zero text on my portfolio, as I want the focus to be on the pictures, rather that the
description of the photos as I want people to have their own view/opinion on them.
How will your mood board influence your final product?
It wont influence it strongly, but it will certainly provide a sense of guidance for it and help me
choose a theme. This is because my mood board is compiled of a more random set of images,
with a minor running theme. This is because my portfolio will capture a range of image types that
will be edited in many different styles, as I feel like this will make my portfolio much more
interesting and vibrant than if I stuck to one thing. However there is still a running theme which is
that its going to be in the centre of leeds. This will also appeal to my target audience very well, as
they are younger (ranging from 16-20) on a balanced psychographic which means they arnt really
fussed about certain things such as what the image type is or how its shot, but if there is
something more to the image they will take notice and discuss it.
Informal Proposal
Current Idea
Concept Create a photo series based on my own city and edit them in different ways and use
them to create a poster of sorts. I will do this by going around the centre of Leeds to
take photos of places that are visually interesting or hold historical value to them for
my portfolio. I will choose the best shots and them edit them in creative ways such
as creating a tilt shift effect, or making the photos(s) look like they are from a
different era by adding a sepia and grain effect. After I've taken the shots and edited
them I will print ALL of the photos off and present them on a physical portfolio. I've
chosen to present my photos on a physical portfolio as younger people like to be
more immersed within things, so the idea of a physical book full of photos seems like
something suited for my target audience. I know this as my psychographic is
balanced which represents people who are more conscious of things and would
most likely rather view something in a physical state instead of a digital one.

Choices
Discounted ideas Reasons for not choosing this project
Filming a short film or trailer • I feel as though I will not have enough time to complete it, and in
previous attempts I have ran out of time when creating the film so its
probably not the best option for me. Also I am not acquainted with
programs used within this art form such as adobe premier etc. as I
have not done a lot of filming. I feel like this would add even more of a
time constraint as I would have to learn the basics of certain
software's to complete my project. Also, casting people and finding a
location would prove extremely time consuming and I may not even
be able to find a cast in the first place.
Creating a game/app • All the attempts in the past at creating either of these has bored me
and ended up a disaster so this is why I wouldn’t attempt to do it
again. Also, its very hard to come up with an original idea in a world
such as ours with new apps been created everyday and with a lot of
apps already released. I can also apply the fact that I have zero skill
within app creation and I would have to learn how to create even the
simplest off apps from scratch.
