Samurai were important warriors in Japanese society who used swords, armor, and bows depending on their rank. A samurai's most prized possession was their sword, which they slept with under their pillow and losing it meant losing their honor. Samurai armor provided protection and more ornate helmets indicated higher ranks, while bows made of wood and bamboo measured between 5 to 8 feet and were also used as weapons alongside swords.
