The Display object manages what is shown on a device and when. It can be obtained through a static method call in the Display class. The Display holds references to Displayable objects like Canvas or Screen that define the actual content. Displayables are added to the Display by calling setCurrent(). Common ways to create Displayables are by extending Canvas, using Screen subclasses, or extending subclasses of Screen.
Nate Rickard takes you on a deep dive into Xamarin.Forms, providing a brief overview, a practical application analysis of this took, and how to extend Xamarin.Forms.
You will be able to answer the following questions:
1. What are some considerations when deciding whether to use Xamarin.Forms?
2. When does it make sense to use Xamarin.Forms?
3. How can I use built in features/tactics to improve development on Xamarin.Forms?
4. How can I supplement Xamarin.Forms with additional (or changed) functionality?

Dependency injection is a software design pattern that implements inversion of control and allows a program design to follow the dependency inversion principle.
Join me in this session to see how we can leverage Dependency Injection(DI) to make our design Modular and Clean and FAST

Mike Bartlett and Andrew Newdigate, founders of Gitter, discuss lessons learned building and scaling a realtime web application with the Marionette NY Community.
Overview
React, Angular, TypeScript… Over the past few years, all these names took part in a fashionable phenomenon, pushed by the big names of the web industry. But what if a parallel world exists beyond this marketed mirror? A better world where you can easily build flexible applications with reusable components.
Objective
Bourre will explain the right philosophy for building flexible applications with reusable components. As well, he will showcase the right tools to better achieve this goal with the dark side of the force.
Target Audience
Every developer who wants to share some inspiration about code design and push forward the limits of the JS eco-system.
Assumed Audience Knowledge
Devs that have already dealt with long life-cycle scalability and maintainability.
Five Things Audience Members Will Learn
Build modular and cross-platform applications
Create configurable architectures driven by DSL
Separate configurability from reusability
Design by contract with dependency injection
Use Haxe metaprogramming to boost code performances

JMeter webinar - integration with InfluxDB and GrafanaRTTS
Watch this recorded webinar about real-time monitoring of application performance. See how to integrate Apache JMeter, the open-source leader in performance testing, with InfluxDB, the open-source time-series database, and Grafana, the open-source analytics and visualization application.
In this webinar, we will review the benefits of leveraging InfluxDB and Grafana when executing load tests and demonstrate how these tools are used to visualize performance metrics.
Length: 30 minutes
Session Overview
-------------------------------------------
During this webinar, we will cover the following topics while demonstrating the integrations of JMeter, InfluxDB and Grafana:
- What out-of-the-box solutions are available for real-time monitoring JMeter tests?
- What are the benefits of integrating InfluxDB and Grafana into the load testing stack?
- Which features are provided by Grafana?
- Demonstration of InfluxDB and Grafana using a practice web application

"Impact of front-end architecture on development cost", Viktor TurskyiFwdays
I have heard many times that architecture is not important for the front-end. Also, many times I have seen how developers implement features on the front-end just following the standard rules for a framework and think that this is enough to successfully launch the project, and then the project fails. How to prevent this and what approach to choose? I have launched dozens of complex projects and during the talk we will analyze which approaches have worked for me and which have not.
Let's dive deeper into the world of ODC! Ricardo Alves (OutSystems) will join us to tell all about the new Data Fabric. After that, Sezen de Bruijn (OutSystems) will get into the details on how to best design a sturdy architecture within ODC.
Connector Corner: Automate dynamic content and events by pushing a buttonDianaGray10
Here is something new! In our next Connector Corner webinar, we will demonstrate how you can use a single workflow to:
Create a campaign using Mailchimp with merge tags/fields
Send an interactive Slack channel message (using buttons)
Have the message received by managers and peers along with a test email for review
But there’s more:
In a second workflow supporting the same use case, you’ll see:
Your campaign sent to target colleagues for approval
If the “Approve” button is clicked, a Jira/Zendesk ticket is created for the marketing design team
But—if the “Reject” button is pushed, colleagues will be alerted via Slack message
Join us to learn more about this new, human-in-the-loop capability, brought to you by Integration Service connectors.

PHP Frameworks: I want to break free (IPC Berlin 2024)Ralf Eggert
In this presentation, we examine the challenges and limitations of relying too heavily on PHP frameworks in web development. We discuss the history of PHP and its frameworks to understand how this dependence has evolved. The focus will be on providing concrete tips and strategies to reduce reliance on these frameworks, based on real-world examples and practical considerations. The goal is to equip developers with the skills and knowledge to create more flexible and future-proof web applications. We'll explore the importance of maintaining autonomy in a rapidly changing tech landscape and how to make informed decisions in PHP development.
This talk is aimed at encouraging a more independent approach to using PHP frameworks, moving towards a more flexible and future-proof approach to PHP development.

2. What is Display
• The Display object working just like a
manager of the display controlling what is
shown on the device and when.
• javax.microedition.lcdui.Display
3. How to Get
• Display object is made available to MIDlet
through a call to static method declared
inside the Display class.
• The reference is often held for a lifetime of
MIDlet.
4. public class HelloWorld extends MIDlet {
private Display display;
public HelloWorld() {
super();
display = Display.getDisplay(this);
}
