5.0 - general
• Packing instructions are covered in section 5 whereas section 6 covers packing specifications and
performance testing
• The shipper is responsible for all aspects of the packing of DG in compliance with the Regulations
• The quantity per package, inner and outer, must be strictly adhered to
• Salvage packaging is used to transport damaged or leaking packages
• Shipper must manage damaged packaging

Packing Groups
• There are three Packing Groups:
• Packing Group I—Substances presenting high danger.
• Packing Group II—Substances presenting medium danger.
• Packing Group III—Substances presenting low danger
