2. My aim is to produce promotional materials for a campaign
that aims to get people to talk to each other about real
issues.
In an age where it has never been so easy to communicate
with someone thanks to social media, people don’t really
talk about real issues and topics. I am going to use
philosophical theories and questions as a starting point for
campaign.
5. Brian
There is one guy, named Brian. He has no friends, no family and no
future, but is healthy. Then there is 5 other people, who have loving
friends and families, and will make something of themselves, but each
person needs an organ transplant and will die without. So is it right to
kill Brian in order to save the 5 people who need an organ? If not, why
not?
What if, you are 6 other people are kidnapped and taken into a room.
The kidnapper says that if you shoot one person, they will set you and the
other 6 free. If you do not, they will shoot 5 people but release you and
the 1 person left. If you shoot yourself, they will kill everyone.
If in this case you choose to sacrifice one in order to save the 5, why not
in the first case?
Finally, you are in the carriage of a runaway train. You see 5 people tied
to the track in front of you. You have the option of sending the train to
the left, where one person is tied to the track.
Surely you would send the train to the left, sacrificing the one person in
order to save the five.
If so, then why not kill Brian?
