This study examined 40 patients with lichen planus seen at a university hospital in Croatia between 2004-2006. The results showed lichen planus was more prevalent in middle-aged females, with most patients presenting with both cutaneous and oral lesions. The majority of oral lesions occurred on the buccal mucosa and presented as Wickham's striae. All patients received topical corticosteroid therapy, while over half also received systemic corticosteroids or retinoids. Phototherapy was used in some cases. The management of oral lichen planus requires a multidisciplinary approach.
