In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. Adoration: Praise for Who God Is by focusing on one of the names or descriptions of God in the Bible. Matt. 6:9
God our Savior (Titus 2:13-14) refers to “our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem
us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.”
Confession: Recognizing our continuing need to repent for sin and seek God’s forgiveness and cleansing. 1 John 1:9
Forgive me, my precious Savior, for the sins I have committed which made your sacrifice on the cross necessary for
my salvation. I am as guilty as anyone for your need to willingly allow yourself to be hung upon that cross, and take
the punishment for my sins.
Offer your confession to the Lord…
Thanksgiving: Thank God for all He has done, direct praise to Him and recognize answered prayer! 1 Thes.5:16-18
Thank you, for your sacrifice. “But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because
of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy.” (Titus 3:4-5)
Express your thanks to the Lord…
Supplication: Bringing personal requests and intercession for others before God’s mighty throne. Heb. 4:14-16
Help me live my life with the gratitude and thanksgiving your sacrifice deserves. Help me to bless others with my
actions, and to let the love that comes from you shine through me.
Enter the throne room of God and bring your requests before Him with a heart of trust and
dependency…
