1. Prayer Guide for April 5 - 11 with Prayer Prompts from Pastor Sue
Adoration: Praise for Who God Is by focusing on one of the names or descriptions of God in the Bible. Matt. 6:9
Jehovah Sabaoth (I Samuel 1:3,11) refers to the Lord of Hosts, the God-of-the-Angel-Armies or the Almighty. It
speaks of a mass, throng or host of persons organized for or waiting for war or those who have assembled for war – i.e.,
the armies of heaven, ready to do the bidding of their Commander and Chief. Mighty God, we acknowledge You as the
powerful and awesome commander of the heavenly host, equipped and prepared to do battle on behalf of Your
children. Nothing is impossible for You and no one can defeat You or thwart Your purposes.
Confession: Recognizing our continuing need to repent for sin and seek God’s forgiveness and cleansing. 1 John 1:9
Forgive me, Almighty God, for so often “putting you in a box,” disregarding your power and giving in to the Enemy
without even a fight. Too frequently I fail to recognize that I am in a battle and I must totally and completely depend
on You for the strength to make the right choices and the power to resist the schemes of the Enemy.
Offer your confession to the Lord…
Thanksgiving: Thank God for all He has done, direct praise to Him and recognize answered prayer! 1 Thes.5:16-18
Thank you, Lord, that you command a mighty host of heavenly warriors. Thank you that you daily protect and defend
me with your mighty power, even when I am unaware of your intervention on my behalf. Thank you for the frequent
“God sightings” where you allow me a glimpse of the way you are working in my life, guarding and protecting me.
Thank you for your daily provision for not only my basic needs, but so much more. As we look forward to celebrating
your resurrection at Easter, thank you especially for your victory over death and sin and the freedom from the control
of the Enemy that you purchased for us.
Express your thanks to the Lord…
Supplication: Bringing personal requests and intercession for others before God’s mighty throne. Heb. 4:14-16
Lord of Hosts, we are aware that many of our family, friends and co-workers are under the rule of the Enemy and need
to be set free. Would you make them aware of their bondage and enable them to seek You and the freedom that comes
from You alone. Make us aware of those areas in our lives that we have yet to surrender to your Almighty power, and
give us the desire and the strength to submit to your Lordship. Send your heavenly host to our defense against the
attacks of the enemy and help us to claim Your victory through Your power.
Enter the throne room of God and bring your requests before Him with a heart of trust and
dependency…
