Hotel Management involves beverage management, hotel administration,
front office, housekeeping, marketing, etc which indicates as a
professional management technique in the hospitality sector.

restricted to managing the operations of a lodging-related establishment.

Hospitality is a broader term that Surrounded industries such as hotel and
conference management, sales, business development, events, etc..
 HOTEL usually offers more services and facilities such as laundry service,
“provides paid lodging on a short-term basis only and provides various amenities to
guests which may increase their lodging satisfaction” (Located city or village - Hotel
Found with star rating for quality.1-5 stars.)
 RESTAURANT, “A place where people pay to sit and eat meals that are cooked
and served on the premises” swimming pools, gym, conference rooms etc.
 MOTEL Doesn't have such facilities.. On similar lines, both restaurants and hotel
“Motel or Motel Lodge is a hotel designs for the Motorists & usually has easily to
parking area for vehicles” (Located Rural areas etc.)
The hospitality field, by definition, is a service industry. Its task is to create shareholder
wealth by servicing and satisfying guests. Industry segments include, among others:
hotels, restaurants, private clubs, managed food service, event planning, tourism related
businesses, and travel providers.
More often than not, the product purchased is either intangible or the perceived quality of
the product purchased is impacted by the service method in which it was received.
Langhorn (2004) noted that in hospitality, the service provider is “part of the product itself”.
For guests to be satisfied, they not only must believe that they have received a valuable
service for their dollar, but also feel valued and respected by the workers providing the
service (Kernbach & Schutte, 2005; Langhorn, 2004; Varca,2004; Winsted, 2000).
Hospitality:
o Derived from the Latin word (Hospitare) meaning to “Receive as a Guest”
o This is the act of kindness in welcoming and looking after the basic needs of guests or
strangers, mainly in relation to food, drink and accommodation.
o Refers to the relationship process between a guest and a host.
o The reception and entertainment of guests, visitors, or strangers with liberality and
goodwill

  • 7. The hospitality field, by definition, is a service industry. Its task is to create shareholder wealth by servicing and satisfying guests. Industry segments include, among others: hotels, restaurants, private clubs, managed food service, event planning, tourism related businesses, and travel providers. More often than not, the product purchased is either intangible or the perceived quality of the product purchased is impacted by the service method in which it was received. Langhorn (2004) noted that in hospitality, the service provider is “part of the product itself”. For guests to be satisfied, they not only must believe that they have received a valuable service for their dollar, but also feel valued and respected by the workers providing the service (Kernbach & Schutte, 2005; Langhorn, 2004; Varca,2004; Winsted, 2000).
