buying and selling of products
over the internet.
 E-commerce describes an
internet transaction as ‘the sale or
purchase’ of goods and services
whether between businesses,
households, individuals,
governments and other public or
private organization conducted
over the internet.
Low Financial CostLow Financial Cost : It has lower startup cost
as physical retail stores have to pay up to
thousands of rupees to rent one of their store
locations and physical structure for shop and
front view i.e. elevation and all cost a lot.
24/7 potential income24/7 potential income : Online stores are
always open for business . Most physical
location stores are open between 9 a.m. to 9
p.m. By being available at all hours for a
customer provides more sources of income.
 Sell Internationally :Sell Internationally : Through e-commerce you
can sell your product around the world easily like
in UK, USA, etc.
 Customer get a Less Invasive Experience:Customer get a Less Invasive Experience:
Some may prefer online shopping as it can be a
little invasive making it one of the best benefit of
ecommerce. If a customer wants to contact store
owner , they can click on a live chat feature ,
email or send a facebook message.
Return policy, Exchange and Cancellation :Return policy, Exchange and Cancellation :
In E-commerce customer can return their product
in case of damage, can also exchange their
product if they don’t like it or also can cancel
their products as well .
Able to Process High Number of Orders :Able to Process High Number of Orders :
With ecommerce there’s no waiting time . A
customer can place orders on his or her own
schedule with no delays allowing you to accept a
high number of orders.
Variety of Products available :Variety of Products available : Another
benefit of ecommerce is that variety of product
are available, you can choose different products,
whereas in retail shop only limited products are
available.
Easy to Compare :Easy to Compare : Customers can easily
compare the price ,color, quality of the products .
Availability of products under a single roof :
Most of the products which a customer wants to
buy are available on a single platform so their is
no need to go to different places for different
products.
Different modes of payments : Customers can
pay the price in different ways, they can pay
through credit card, debit card, cod(cash on
delivery), emi , etc.
Easy to track our Product : Customers can
track their product so they can know till where
their products have reached.
Wish list option : Customers can save the
products which they like in their wish list and can

expectations or not.
The Seller Needs To Ship the Product :
In e-commerce the seller needs to pack and
ship every item the customer order whether it is
small or big and the customer needs to wait for the
product to get delivered.
Security :There are many organization who have
fallen into the prey of hackers who have stolen
customer information from their databases such as
stolen their credit card or bank details or personal
information.
Customers can be Impatient : In most
businesses delay in responding to customer queries
leads to customers dis-satisfaction which further
leads him to shop from somewhere else.
 Frauds and Phishing: Anyone can set up an ecommerce website
and it can also lead us to a fraud website where people can stole our
personal details and can misuse our personal information.
 Guarantee and warranty: There is no guarantee and warranty
of the product material and quality.
 Some times you find an image of the product attractive
but the product you received does not match the image
you viewed on website and your expectations also.
 Not every person is digitally literate so that they are not
capable of buying the products.
 Lack of personal touch and feeling of the product.
 Internet access is still not cheaper and inconvenient to
use for many potential customers like one living in remote
villages.
