Svitlana Zubenko
I would like to apply for a position of the Secretary of TESOL-Ukraine. I have
been a member of TESOL-Ukraine for more than ten years and have always
actively taken part in the development of the organization. I believe that TESOL-
Ukraine has good history and future perspectives and I would like to contribute to
the further development of the organization.
Svitlana Zubenko graduated from Kharkiv National Pedagogical
University, the Department of Foreign Languages in 2004 and got the diploma
with honour.
Since 2004 she has been working as a teacher of the English Language at
Kharkiv National University of Municipal Economy named after O. M. Beketov
and teaches ESP.
Svitlana Zubenko has been the TESOL-Ukraine member since 2004 and
Kharkiv Oblast Leader since 2009, supervising 6 groups of 60 members. She was
in the Organizing Commeetee of the XIVth
National TESOL-Ukraine Conference
“Discovery Learning: Content-based learning for EFL/ ESP Teacher” in 2009
funded by the US Embassy and was responsible for preparing the budget and grant
proposal, accommodation, cultural program and overall management. In 2011
Svitlana has succesfully organized the TESOL-Ukraine Teacher Development
Summer Institute for 50 teachers of the English Language at Kharkiv National
University of Municipal Economy named after O. M. Beketov. Besides,
Svitlana has organized the pre-conference seminar held by the Education and
2. Training Consultant Brian Long in 2009 and a seminar for the English language
teachers of Kharkiv Region held by the English Language Fellow Thomas Tasker
in 2010.
Svitlana participated in the XIIIth American Studies Summer Institute
“U.S. Elections as a Reflection of American Society” (Evpatotia, 2012), TESOL-
Ukraine Teacher Development Summer Institute “ Innovation Technoques in ELT”
(Sevastopol,2012) and successfully completed the training conference “Developing
the Next Generation of Association Leaders” (Budapest, 2014).
Svitlana is a persistant and disciplined professional respected by her
colleagues and students, who is willing to contribute to the further development of
TESOL-Ukraine.
