3. AI is the development of computer
systems that are able to perform
tasks that would require human
intelligence.
AI is defined as the science of
making computers do things that
require intelligence when done by
humans
Capability of machine to imitate
intelligent human behaviour
Real life examples – Self driving
cars, Siri, Cortana, Alexa
4. Early history
In 1950 Alan Turing English mathematician wrote a
landmark paper titled “Computing machinery and
intelligence” that asked the question “Can machines
think”?
Futher work came out in 1956 workshop at
Dartmouth sponsored by John McCarthy. In the
proposal for that workshop he coined the phrase
“study of Artificial Intelligence”.
5. Current status of AI
AI has taken many shapes and forms over recent years
Mobile phones (Siri/Cortana)
Video game characters
GPS/Voice recognition
Robotics
Google has been a major player of AI and Machine Learning
