This document discusses ICT systems and the differences between data and information. It defines ICT as using technology for input, processing, storage and transfer of data and output of information. A system is described as a set of connected parts forming a whole with input, process and output. An ICT system is the same but uses technology and outputs directly to a human or other ICT system. Data on its own is meaningless facts or numbers, but becomes information when given relevance through processing. Examples of ICT systems and diagrams are provided to illustrate these concepts.
