Diversity and representation has been in an increased demand over the past few years. Even
children's TV producers and creators are taking notice by including LGBT and all sorts of ethnic

big fan of sequels I have to say that at least this part two, creates its own story with just scant

I once heard a quote that T. Roosevelt said. It started with "Believe you can and you're halfway
there." I have believed and my life has been already halfway there. On a cool spring day, on May 25,
2005 I was welcomed to the world. I was born an identical twin at 2:29 PM. I was born first. I was
referred to as Baby A before I was born. I weighed 6lbs 12oz and 18 ¾ inches. I had to be in the
nursery for 12 hours to get more oxygen. I was named after Jada Pinkett Smith. My mom decided on
the name and my sister picked me to be named Jada. Many of our family and friends came to hold
and see me. That was a day I will never forget.

Anyways this movie doesn't relate to me because I've never robbed a bank but I have felt some of
the emotions. At a point of time I was so nervous about doing something I had never done before.
But, it couldn't have been as stressful and and nerve racking as about to rob a bank. One time i had
got a phone call home in elementary and I thought about what my moms reaction would be when I
got home. I was o scared when i got home I didn't even really get in trouble all she did was sit down
me and had a long talk. Just that talk made me feel as if I should apologize to my mom and my
teacher and get my act together. This movie does also remind me of the time I stole some candy
from the corner store when I was 11. I will never forget that day my mom kept saying she was going
to call the police, of course she didn't but just to scare me. It worked too, I started crying and saying
don't call please I was really scared and thought she was serious. I promised her I would never do it
again and I really stuck to it and stayed on the right track. Since then I've never taken anything
without permission or unless it was given to me

Our team chose to focus on representations of women in Spike Lee's latest joint,
"Bamboozled". This theme was attractive to us because we felt the filmmaker had a powerful
message to send his audience after viewing the trailer in class.
Despite the fact that there is only one woman in a starring role, a multitude of specific and acute
ideas are presented by Spike Lee through the film. We were also eager to take advantage of the
opportunity to apply what we have learned in class to the thought–provoking and controversial
nature of his work. When reflecting upon representations of women, we felt that a continuous motif

She feels the need to prove herself to Manray and other characters by explaining her ascent to the
top, an internship. This is further illustration of the idea that women have to use their sexuality to get
somewhere in life, despite intelligence or determination. If a woman does use her sexuality for
personally beneficial reasons she must either defend or hide it. We feel the portrayal of women in
"Bamboozled" says a lot about the way they are represented not only in the media, but in capitalistic
society. Women are underrepresented in the media, like this film, and the few depictions are
generally negative. They are the slut, "yes" woman, or sexual object. There are infrequent
representations of women in positions of authority or in assertive roles. We wonder if it's possible
for females to overcome these stereotypes in actual society when they are constantly tied down by

Racism and inequalities have existed, exists now, and will be here long after we are gone. However,
racism in this country has been diminished greatly, and though it will never be fully eradicated, it is
to the point where all races and ethnicities can achieve great things. All aspects of life, such as
income levels, success in the arts, and even college entrance are not beholden to systemic racism. It
is a person's own drive, personal life choices, and willingness to work hard that determine their level
