1. What is RTU?
RTU (Remote Terminal Unit) is a Remote measurement and control Unit device,
responsible for monitoring and control of field signals and industrial equipment.
Compared with the commonly used programmable controller PLC, RTU usually has
better communication capability and larger storage capacity, which is suitable for more
severe temperature and humidity environment and provides more computing
functions. It is precisely because of the perfect function of RTU that RTU products have
been widely used in SCADA system.
Remote terminal equipment (RTU) is the electronic equipment installed at the remote
site, used to monitor and measure the sensors and equipment installed at the remote
site. RTU converts the measured state or signal into a data format that can be sent on

into commands that control the device's functions.
