Overview of the Functionalities of 4G Routers
4G router adopts high-performance industrial 32-bit communication processor and
industrial-grade wireless module. It uses an embedded real-time operating system as
a software support platform, and provides one RS232 (or RS485/RS422), Ethernet
LAN, and Ethernet WAN. A WIFI interface can connect serial devices, Ethernet
devices and WIFI devices at the same time to realize transparent transmission and
routing of data.
At present, industrial grade products have a patented technology that maintains a
stable system, ensuring that the equipment is always on-line; the entire machine
adopts a metal housing, resists interference and radiation, and adopts an
industrial-grade design on the hardware; the system is equipped with a watchdog
WDT protection and is additionally loaded with system monitoring. Protect SWP
(System Watch Protect); The whole product passes the European CE certification,
passes the test of the inspection center, passes the electricity 3000V electric shock
test, all wireless modules have passed the CGD authentication or the FCC
authentication or the CE authentication; After rigorous design, test and 10 years of

Core functions
1) Internal Integrated TCP/IP Stack
GPRS DTU encapsulates PPP dial-up protocol and TCP/IP protocol stack and has
embedded operating system. From hardware, it can be regarded as a combination of
embedded PC and wireless GPRS MODEM; it has GPRS dial-up Internet access and
TCP/IP data. The function of communication.
2) Provide bidirectional conversion function of serial data
GPRS DTU provides a serial communication interface, including RS232, RS485, RS422,
etc. are all commonly used serial communication methods, and GPRS DTU design in
most of the serial data is designed as a "transparent conversion" mode, which means
that GPRS DTU can The raw data on the serial port is converted into TCP/IP data
packets for transmission without changing the original data communication content.
Therefore, the GPRS DTU can be connected to various user equipment’s that use the
serial communication without changing the user equipment.
3) Support automatic heartbeat and stay permanently online
One of the advantages of the GPRS communication network is that the GPRS
terminal equipment is permanently online, so typical GPRS DTUs are designed to
support the permanent online function, which requires the DTU to include automatic
dialing on power and use of heartbeat packets to maintain permanent online (when
long When there is no data communication, the mobile gateway will disconnect the
DTU from the center. The heartbeat packet is a small data packet sent between the
DTU and the data center before the connection is disconnected to keep the
connection from being disconnected. It supports automatic disconnection of the
disconnected line. , automatic redial and other features.
4) Support parameter configuration, permanent preservation
As a communication device, GPRS DTU has a wide range of applications. In different
applications, the IP address and port number of the data center and the baud rate of
the serial port are different. Therefore, the GPRS DTU should support parameter
configuration and store the configured parameters in internal permanent storage
devices (generally FLASH or EEPROM, etc.). Once powered on, it will automatically
work according to the set parameters.
5) Support user serial port parameter setting
The serial port parameters of different user devices are different. When the DTU is
connected to the serial port of the user device, the DTU must be set according to the
actual parameters of the user device serial port to ensure the normal communication
and reliable data transmission of the user device.
Application area
DTU has been widely used in power, environmental protection, LED information
release, logistics, hydrology, weather and other industries. As shown in the above
figure, the principle of application is the same, although the industry of applications
is different. Mostly, DTUs are connected to industrial equipment, such as PLCs, SCMs,
and other automation products, and then establish a wireless communication
connection with the background. With the increasing development of the Internet,
the use of DTUs has become more widespread. It has provided assistance for the
integration of information and industry among various industries and industries.
