EXPERIENCE and RESULTS
My flexibility, experience, and quick adaptation to facilities have allowed me to work as
a traveling nurse from which I gleaned how healthcare facilities in different parts of the
country provide patient care.
Assessed terminally ill patients and their family’s psychosocial and medical needs as well
as instructed them in proper physical and mental care relating to their needs and
environment while in the hospital or home settings. Guide patients, families and coworkers with understanding and coping with the death and dying process for themselves,
their patients, and their patient’s families. My work resulted in improvement in the care
giver’s role, better patient care giver roles, increased patient and co-worker understanding
of the disease process and prognosis, and improved patient care.

Assistant manager in Out Patient Cancer Clinic. Using the newest evidenced based
practice I developed new protocols and procedures resulting in updated patient care and
treatment as well as improved patient care and services.
Influential in establishing oncological/hospice care plans in a hospital not previously
equipped for this service. My work resulted in educated nursing and medical staff,
improved patient care, and creation of policies and procedures which were nonexistent. .
Guide and assist coworkers through biological experimental phase one drug programs for
Fox Chase Cancer Center. My work resulted in successful drug studies some of which
were released for public use in treating cancer tumors.
Conducted and monitored experimental and current drug use research for Bristol-MeyerSquibb. My work resulted in treating aliments for which the drugs were not originally
created to treat, increased use for some drugs, and improvement in patient therapies. My
work also resulted in pulling bad drugs off market which increased patient safety and
decreased law suits against the drug company thus improving financial gain for the
company.
Experienced in administering, maintaining, and teaching nurses and medical staff
regarding: Chemotherapy, Chem. Ports, Pass Ports, Hickmans, CVP Lines, TPN,
Blood/Blood products, and Experimental Cancer Agents. The education resulted in
decreased infection rates, decreased facility expense, improved patient care, and an
increase in staff able to properly perform these procedures.
Instructed medical externs, nursing students, and inexperienced nurses in proper IV, Pass
port, and Port-a-Cath techniques, and patient care resulting in improvement upon
infection control and providing more experienced staff to perform these procedures.
Supervised both wing and house sections of long term care facility with 160 patients. My
supervision over the LPN and LNA staff resulted in improved patient care, decreased
infection rate, zero skin break down, decreased falls, updated policies and procedures, ,
and a more organized and efficient staff all which allowed a financial gain for the facility.
Assisted patients and their families in understanding pre-op testing by developing
protocols for explanation of procedures, and prepared patients mentally and physically
for surgical procedures resulting in improved patient care, improved monitoring patient
status in the Same Day Surgical Unit and Recovery Room, and decreased patient anxiety.
Charge nurse at small and large facilities/hospitals. My influence and leadership resulted
in greater staff cooperation, greater staff satisfaction, a more organized, productive,
efficient nursing staff, improved nursing care, increased patient satisfaction, and updated
