Colour scheme is all dark colours that are all
similar to each other, the dark fonts contrast
with the light background therefore grabbing
attention of the readers. Also highlights the
bright red heart as this is the only image on
the page which is positive as red connotes love
in comparison to the dull colours throughout
the contents page of this magazine.
The red heart on the artist signifies that it is
being placed there showing that the artist has
no emotion, which the audience can tell
through the facial expressions and composure.
This can highlight his reputation as a RnB/Hiphop artist. The red heart can also represent

-The colour scheme matches the same
colours on the title ‘Billboard’ this
showing that they are keeping the same
scheme throughout the magazine, this
keeps it organised and not messy for the
readers.

and albums for that week, this gives the
magazine an advantage seeing as not
many magazines have this. Also shows that
the magazine is not targeting a specific
genre, that its generating to all genres
depending if they are in the top hits or
not.
-‘Contents’ bigger than every other
heading, making it clear to the audience
what the page is including.
-Photos with page numbers on them,
showing that that page will be about the
artist in that photo, making it eye catching
for the readers straight away rather than
reading the writing.
-The ‘upfront’ and ‘features’ are all in capitals to
get the readers attention, also they give little
summaries on what the page is including. This
means these pages are more important than
the bottom headings; ‘music’ and ‘in every
issue’ seeing as they have no summary and are
at a smaller font.
-The background of the woman is the same as
the text, they are emerged together. This
highlights the importance of the woman as she
has a shot of her whole body and the bigger
photo out of all of them, this draws the readers
to the main focus of the magazine as it’s the
main article.

about events and also exclusive information
online, this shows new media, it will interest
new and more readers because more people in
this day and age use the internet as its quick
and easy. Also showing the generic magazine by

the readers, this is why they have used

issue number, clearer for the audience

the magazine rather than all the other

the news that fits’ grabbing the
attention of the readers. Also the
subheadings such as ‘Money honey’
and the subheadings next to the page
numbers.
-The photos are eye catching to the
readers, highlighting they are the main
articles in the magazine so they are the
most essential.

attention from the readers for the new
media, this will give them more online
readers.
-The main article is the main focus of the
magazine , this is why there is a bigger
photo and bigger fonts, this is suppose to
get the readers interest. Also the photo is in
black and white to signify that the artist is
older and to show the photo was taken long
ago, as it says in the summary ‘for thirty
years’.
-This also gives a significance to the other
photo in colour of the other artist, showing
that she is more modern and in the day and
age of now.

on all genres seeing as the main article is
about a rock artist, but still have other
articles on artists like Green Day and
Beyonce. Also suggests that the target
audience is middle aged males.
