Project Permit To Work
Client Infineon Technologies
Employer/Location Tata Consultancy Services Limited, Bangalore
Description The PTW application shall aid to create a Permit-To-Work IT system based on
Infineon CUIF (Common User Interface Framework) platform for Singapore
site.There is one major workflows-
Permit-To-Work Workflow: Handling new Permit-to-Work request, approval
and closure, with auto email reminder.
PTW also provides reports based on Transaction details and Master data, which
is based on various parameters included in the application’s report page.

platform aligned with Infineon’s common UI Framework. Additionally, the
architecture of new application will enable it to extend its services to multiple
sites.
Key changesenhancements made to this application are listed below:

Project "Re-Engineering Project" for the MGH (Morgan Hill manufacturing site.)
Client Infineon Technologies
Employer/Location Tata Consultancy Services Limited, Bangalore
Description Morgan Hills site uses a set of home-grown applications for shop floor
integrated with Visual (Manufacturing Execution System)(i.e.) Production ERP.
These home-grown applications are Desktop applications developed using
different Technologies like MsAcess forms, Windows forms. It has a number
of drawbacks like no Role based Authorization, no coding standards and some
additional business functionality are not addressed. This application is migrated
to the latest .Net platform and is hosted as a Thin client app using some of the
features provided by the standard SCM UIF(User Interface Framework) and
required additional functionalities is also developed.
Core Objective of the Project-
Migrate the below applications into integrated server based
application:
• Inventory tool - Application used to make adjustments to the
work orders , issue goods to production and for
receiving/returning the consignments
• E-Prod - Desktop application used by shop floor operators to
clock in/clock out work orders
• Vlite – Application used for packing the finished goods
• ShipX - Handles Shipments
Development of an additional enhancement for the e-Prod Application
in Clock out process.
Automation of Work Order Generation Process
WPF and WCF were used from Microsoft technology stack.
An MVVM pattern with Server based architecture was suggested for
easier maintenance
A clone of the existing SCM UIF was developed for migration to a
SQL Server based platform ,
Features included in the Migrated UIF framework :
• Authentication and authorization which includes screens for
6. adding users, roles, applications, menus, pages.
• Error Handling
• Generic Feature for Data Upload
