To Parent(s) and Guardian(s):
It brings great pleasure to welcome new & returning students to South Atlanta High School! Our
school is currently in a phase of transition as we work to successfully merge the schools of
Computer Animation and Design, Health and Medical Sciences, & Law and Social Justice into
one operating entity. As a result, all of our school stakeholders have been working diligently to
establish the school structures, policies, and procedures that will govern students beginning the
first day of school, August 5, 2015.
In order to ensure a smooth transition for all students we wanted to share with you the following
guidelines regarding student attire:
School Uniform: Black or purple polo shirt, black or khaki slacks, shorts, or skirts and
closed toed shoes or sandals with a strap.
Non-permissible (throughout the school day): Jeans, t-shirts, jogging suits, flop flops,
No see through or skin tight clothing, hoodies, bonnets, hats, pajamas, head scarves, skull
caps, sunglasses, slides/slippers and jackets/sweaters that are not purple or black.
Bookbags: Clear or mesh.
Note: Non-permissible items are included but not limited to the listed items. The South Atlanta High School
administration reserves the right to modify this list when appropriate.
It is our goal to provide students with a safe and structured environment with minimal distractions
so that students can fully engage in a rich and rigorous learning experience. If you have any
questions regarding the school uniform policy, please do not hesitate to contact the school.
We encourage you to make sure your student is in attendance on the first day of school. The 9th
graders will report to the third floor. The 10th graders will report to the first floor and the 11th &
12th graders will report to the second floor. The teachers will be ready to teach and we are
confident that your student will be ready to learn.
Thank you in advance for your support in making the 2015-16 academic year a success!
Sincerely,
Dr. Patricia Ford
Principal
