reptiles.
• Reptiles are the first vertebrates that have
Amniotic egg.
• Reptiles are Tetra-pod animals.
• Their egg have following parts
1. Shell 2. Albumin 3. Yolk

1. Anapsida
=> ‘An’ means without so, these animals are
without opeing or feneastrae in the temporal portion
of skull.
=> Turtles represents this linage now a days.
=> Their skull and shell fossiles are 200 million
years old.
=> The 245 million year old rocks are found in
South Africa.
10. 2. Synapsid
=> ‘syn’ means “ with ” so these reptiles
have one opening in temporal region of
skull.
=> All synapsids are extenct now.

=> ‘ Di ’ means “two” so these reptiles have
two openings in temporal portion.
=> This group is further divided into two
groups.
1- Lepidosauria 2-Archosauria
