- 6. • Cosmetics are key components to maintain healthy, youthful skin • They removes dirt & dead skin cells • But have harmful effect on skin by drying it out • Moisturizers increase skin's water content • Protect the skin and encourage an orderly desquamation (shedding) • Shedding process makes the skin appear more smooth
