4. Introduction
Probably revealed in the 3rd stage of Prophet hood in Makah.
Around the same time as Surah Maryam and Surah Kahf.
This Surah brought the conversion of Umar ibn Khattab (RA) to
Islam.
5. Ruku 1
The Quran is not a cause of “distress” but a “reminder” for
those who “fear” Allah.
Allah has knowledge of everything in the heavens & the
earth, & also everything in b/w them.
Importance of learning the beautiful Allah’s attributes –
brings one closer to Allah.
Appreciate Allah’s Perfection by elevating Him above all
imperfections.
Strengthens belief in Tauhid.
Cultivates love towards Allah and Taqwa.
Hadith of Abu Huraira (RA) – “He who memorizes 99
names of Allah by heart will enter Paradise”.
6. Story of Musa (AS)
Basic principles of faith revealed to him;
Allah is the Creator and Master of everything, and
no god besides Him.
Allah is the Only One worthy of worship, serve Him
alone.
Establish Salah to serve Him and remember Him.
Belief in the Day of Resurrection and Hereafter.
7. Story of Musa (AS)
Initial Dawah training;
Develop good listening skills – how do we listen to
the Quran?
Gain knowledge about your Deen.
Develop strong conviction about your message.
Gather your resources and practice.
Complete trust in Allah – tawakkal Allah.
Be prepared to answer to Allah’s call, when needed.
8. Ruku 2
Dawah training continued;
Ask for Allah’s help – Dua for courage, ease our speech, &
provide us with understanding (Ayah 25-28).
Recruit help to share task (preferably from family & friends).
Strengthen yourself with good company. Work together and
push each other towards Allah.

9. Begin dawah with kind and gentle words.
Present arguments and evidences.
Warn them of consequences of deviation.
Avoid situations of “quagmire” – leave it on Allah.
10. Ruku 3
Disbelievers are always afraid of losing power to the Truth.
Islam always considered a threat to their “ideal lifestyle”
---- their civilization, arts & culture, recreation etc.
They always attack Islam with a united front.
Truth is always clear to people who understand & comprehend.
Believers are always subjected to trials.
Promise of “highest ranks” to people who believe & do good deeds.
11. Ruku 4
Chose and follow your leaders with due consideration.
Pharaoh led his people to destruction.
Samiri led his people to Kufr.
Being slaves to customs and cultures – also leads to shirk.
12. Ruku 5
Difference between personalities of Musa (AS) & Haroon (AS).
Musa (AS) is tough and fierce.
Haroon (AS) is gentle and lenient.
Reminder;
Those who reject the message shall bear a heavy burden on the
Day of Resurrection.
The sinners will have “terror” in their eyes on that Day.
Life of this world will seem like an hour or part of it.
13. Ruku 6
Description of a scene from the Day of Resurrection.
Mountains will be crumbled to dust.
Earth will be made plain with no curves or creases.
There will be silence and only sound of marching footsteps.
Everyone will be humbled and remorseful.
Dua to augment, amplify, develop and enhance knowledge and
understanding (Ayat 114).
14. Ruku 7
Human beings’ weakness in perseverance & forgetfulness.
Shaitan’s first temptation towards this weakness in disguise
of true friend and well wisher.
Temptation of eternal life and ever lasting Kingdom.
Allah accepts sincere repentance.
According to the Quran, Eve (AS) is not to be blamed for the
sin.
15. Natural instinct is to cover your self.
Those who do not follow the guidance will be raised blind on
the Day of Resurrection, as they turned a blind eye towards the
message on this earth.
16. Ruku 8
“ى ٰض ۡرَت ” – comes from the root words - و ض ر – which means
pleased, content, satisfied.
Prescription for Contentment;
Remain patient and steadfast.
Glorify Allah at prescribed times – offer Salah at prescribed times.
Do not stretch your eyes eagerly towards worldly splendor –
luxuries, pleasures, wealth, children, high position and power.
Enjoin Salah on your family.
Be diligent in performing it yourself.

19. Let's evaluate our selves
Am I sure?
Yes No mostly to some
extent
I believe that the Qur'an is a means of saving
from hardships rather than creating
hardships.
I am sure that dua for opening the heart is for
daee’s own heart.
I try to make dua and involve my family in my
dawah activities.
I believe that only Allah can remove fear from
human beings.
I make a conscious effort not to envy illicit
living
I am sure turning away from Allah’s
remembrance make life constrict.
