India is the largest democratic country.
The election are held in India on the basis
of universal adult franchise from panchayat
to parliament.
To conduct an independent and
dispassionate elections, Election
commission came into being as per the
stipulation in the Indian constitution.
Election is an inevitable process in any
democratic country.
6. Adult franchise
The people of a democratic country elect
there own representatives directly.
Franchise is essential for the protection of
human rights.
Any citizen in India who has completed 18
years of age can exercise votes in the
election regardless of his/her caste,
creed, religion, race, community,
language and region.
7. Adult franchise is the most important
right conferrer on a citizen in any
democratic country.
Exercising of franchise provides the
citizens an opportunity to participate
in the process of democracy.
