3. SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
were adopted by the United Nations (UN) to tackle
issues that affect people, the planet, prosperity,
peace and partnership. UN members have agreed
to achieve the goals by 2030.

4. NURSES’ ROLE IN ACHIEVING SDGs
 Nurses care for others :
 promotion of health
 prevention of illness
 care for physically & mentally ill in all
health care and community settings
 Social justice :
 prevent child and maternal deaths
 improve quality of life
