2. WHY WORLD HEALTH DAY?
The WHO was founded on the principle that all
people should be able to realize their right to the
highest possible level of health. This constitution
came into force on 7th April, 1948.
“HEALTH FOR ALL” has therefore WHO’s
guiding vision for more than SEVEN decades.
Goal towards universal health coverage.
Political will must be strong.

3. WHY UNIVERSAL HEALTH
COVERAGE?
Sound investment in human capital.
Enhance people’s health & life expectancy.
Protect countries from epidemics, reduces
poverty, creates jobs, drive economic
growth and enhance gender equality.
