3. "You have been advised that your actions constitute a violation of
the law. You have been given several opportunities to voluntarily
cease your actions and leave this area. This is your last warning.
Should you choose to remain, you do so understanding that a peace
officer shall place you under arrest for violation of the law. Any
resistance, either passive or physical, shall result in additional
charges. You shall be arrested, handcuffed, and maybe transported
to and incarcerated at the Yolo County jail. Will you leave at this
time? [Pauses for about 7 seconds] I say for the third time, Section
four-zero-nine of the Penal Code prohibits remaining present at an
unlawful assembly. If you remain in the area which was just
described, regardless of your purpose in remaining, you will be in
violation of section 409. You have been given 3 minutes to leave."
~Lt. John Pike

12. “Free speech is part of the DNA of this
university, and non-violent protest has
long been central to our history,” Yudof

vigilance. I implore students who wish to
demonstrate to do so in a peaceful and
lawful fashion. I expect campus
authorities to honor that right.”
