Corona and social media
1. No doubt social media is considered most important as a
source of communication and business. Social media is
more faster than other means of communication.
It is also considered more powerful, It is true to say that
social media informs us current situation and our
surroundings as well but it will not be false to say that
social media is a source of depression and in
psychological perspective, depression is a psychological
disorder and the peak point of depression is suicide.
Conditions that can get worse due to depression include
arthritis, asthma, cardiovascular disease, cancer,
diabetes, obesity. People may experience symptoms:
fatigue, headache, digestive problems, restless sleep,
hopeless, loss of energy, weight loss or gain. In this
pandemic situation we do not fell prey to all these
symptoms. In fact we need fresh fruits and we need to
maintain our diet neither we should gain weight, nor we
should loss weight, because it can be dangerous in this
situation.
In this pandemic situation we need to spend our time with
our family. We need some activities instead of using social
media without a break in this lockdown. Lockdown does
not mean you are in your home and using social media all
the time and not giving time to your family.
2. It is also harmful for your mental health and social media
is creating obsession and compulsion in this pandemic
situation.
3. In psychology obsession is an idea or thought that
continually preoccupies or intrudes on a person's
mind. Obsession is usually exaggerated version of
concern and worry that most people have at some
time. Obsessions may be constantly on a person’s
mind.
4. They may also be triggered by physical objects,
situations, smells or something heard on television,
radio or in a conversation. when you use social media
and continuously watching news without break you
will fall a prey to obsession.
5. For example a person is using social media and
continuously reading a same post again and again either
he has corona symptoms, or not. And other thing is
compulsion that is a repetitive, rule-based behavior that a
person feels they must perform in order to feel normal and
in some cases to prevent negative consequences from
happening, you think about one thing and continuously
after reading some irrelevant posts and comments , and
fell prey to obsession and compulsion.
6. And in psychology, it is a disorder but still at home
do not use social media all the time because some
news are fake and the other thing is that what comes
to a person's mind he/she post it on the social media,
even he/she does not know anything, neither she/he
is professionalist nor a researcher but i will say people
mostly make posts and comments for attention and
attraction, and you become double minded.
7. Some one says black seeds are the best cure for the
coronavirus take it regularly with hot water, someone
says drink hot water every time, someone says take
lemon and honey in hot water, someone says take
qehwa ( with hot spices)
regularly.
Every person has its own opinion and every one is
posting his opinion on social media without
verification and these hot eatables may lead to
irritation in the stomach. sometime you become the”
man who was a hospital” (Jerome K. Jerome). Most of
the things on social media are irrelevant even these
things have no concern with this pandemic situation.
Generally, people start to think about those things for
which they have no concern. As a result, they draw a
false conclusion and get worried. Behind all this
fantastic exaggeration is the sound advice, do not
stuff your head with things you do not understand and
having no concern with those contents on the social
media.
